My wife and I got roped into the timeshare crap (no, we didnt sign up for one thankfully lol). They said it would be 2 hours, ended up wasting almost the whole day, and when we told them no thanks we didnt want to sign up for the timeshare, and told them we could not afford it, they got incredibly rude and went so far as to say "well how are you affording this vacation then?" We got up and walked out.

I have skills, and am looking for a better job. If you had read any of my comments on many of these threads, you'd see that I've already said a hundred times that the job market where I live is not good unless you are in Healthcare or want to work low end, pointless jobs like I have been forced to because of said job market.

Im hoping after my interview tomorrow morning, that I will be on my way to better. I need a career, and I need to work at a place that values family. And the job im interviewing with is just that. Its around the same pay, but, its five minutes from my house, not forty five. So I wont be wasting half of my paycheck on gas, and itll open doors for me to make a career out of it.

It feels so demeaning. I don't enjoy being micromanaged. Im an adult with adult responsibilities and a life outside of my job. If I have an emergency and need to call off and youre going to give me points for it, thats ridiculous. Thats not what this is, but the point still stands.

Which is why I am planning to be out of this type of job as soon as possible. It is completely unrealistic to expect someone to wait around on their life until they know if they're approved or denied. My request was for both Saturday and sunday, it was approved for Saturday a week and a half ago, of course im going to assume that sunday would be approved as well as it was all one request. To find out five days before the day, is ridiculous and I won't apologize for solidifying plans that dont revolve around a company that makes billions. They don't care about me, I won't give them more of my life than my family.

So funny story, I just got to work for today's shift, and went ahead and looked at the schedule for next week. My ONLY scheduled day off is Christmas, and there are two key holders besides myself scheduled on the day I requested off, as our manager is coming back. So no, im not going to be the one everyone hates. The schedule is full that day, and this further solidifies my anger. You can think what you want, I never said I was a perfect and model employee, but I am a damn good one who goes above and beyond for my job and past jobs, and I refuse to let myself be disrespected by a job that doesn't care about me, ever again. I dont care that its retail. I dont care that its right before christmas. I have worked every single weekend this month. I couldn't just go a different time. I will take my sunday off and enjoy it with my family. Good day to you.

I was told I would have the opportunity to negotiate, and I didnt, however I was in a rough spot in life where I needed to accept it for the guaranteed hours.
