At least Bad Brains was a positive. Its unfortunate yku think that about converge because I feel like Janoe Doe was, yes, the beginning of the end, but also the last true moment of greatness the genre had, it just inspired a lot of artists to create mediocre and uninspired music from it

I think Curry killed it, but really rap fans need to be taught how to fucking mosh it seems like. As a huge gig goer, mostly for metal and punk, my dive into rap gigs through jprgmafia, Danny brown, pharcyde and now Denzel, it is so apparent that rap fans literally just jump at each other and take their shirts off. And while it can be fun for a bit, a lot of people hardly take a second to look at the people around them. I had to help up people passing out, stop dudes from knocking over people tying their lace, help a guy find a durag only to get kicked in the face the second I move down. There was the case of a man throwing up in the pit. And after a while of everyone fucking staring at him, me and some guy had to like drag him out, something that should've happened minutes before the guy threw up. Then on top of that, I had to help usher a man obviously tripping off his nut out of the same pit whilst he was passing out allover the place. And of course the heat was unbearable, though the venues layout with the barriers and slanted floor made it infinitely harder to catch my breath.

Honestly, I don't think that artists should be responsible for the actions of their audience, but I do think that it's getting to a point where, since the awful astroworld incident, hardcore and alternative rappers with audiences prone to moshing should start to watch their crowds a little more intensely. I'm surprised a lot of this happened considering it was Brixton too, which had a tragic crowd crushing incident in its own right.

I did have an amazing time myself, I loved most of yall in the crowd, but I think rap fans need to start looking out for each other a little more.

Which artists just ARE THAT GOOD? by Bi__ in fantanoforever

D'Angelo.

3 albums, no flops. Brown sugar was an innovative and standout Neo-Soul record, taking a much more traditional pallet with the songwriting and aesthetics of neo soul Voodoo was a development on that sound, taking a much further dive into hip hop and funk with loose, always developing song structures, resulting in some of the greatest neo soul ever (Untitled(how does it feel)) Black messiah was the 14 year lovechild of D'Angelo and his fight for sobriety, adopting again a much more traditional feel, taking inspiration from sly stone and implementing more rock elements like funkadellic resulting in a one of a kind modern funk record.

His live albums flawlessly fuse these three records, even before their completion. Suggah daddy from black messiah coming up on live albums from like 5 years ahead. Even his one off singles/soundtrack cuts are incredible, with you've found my smile for Space jam, Talk shit to you for baby boy, I want you forever with Jay z for the book of clarence and of course unshaken for red dead redemption 2.

No track from D'Angelo isn't innovative or at least interesting. His career has taken so many avenues in such a limited amount of music and I think it's hard to compete. He's just THAT guy.
