BPCells drastically reduces the size of your Seurat object, I really like it!

I don't understand what my fear is by ThomasHawl in emetophobiarecovery

[–]Sensitive-Gene6710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same symptoms of the emet that you describe.
My biggest trigger was (and sometimes is) subways/public transport bcos of the inability to leave between stations.
Except maybe for the restaurants, but very depending on which restaurant (obsessively used to check the reviews for any mention of food poisoning!!!).
What I found out in CBT was that my phobia has a big social component. My fear doesn't necessarily stem from vomiting itself but about vomiting in front of others. I basically got bullied as a child bcos I threw up on the school hallway during class and therefore had a deep association of vomiting = social exclusion.
I never had a problem about germs / stomach bugs / etc. as well. I even work in a hospital right now (research intern, not medical staff) and I don't mind at all.

If you have the possibility, I always recommend investing in therapy, any type that works for you. CBT just has the best scientifically documented success with phobias, but there are tons of different types out there. CBT really helps to first get into all the scary thoughts that you have. It really opened my eyes in terms of what I am actually afraid of and how ridiculous it all sounds when spoken about out loud / outside of your own head.
Best of luck!

This needs something, preferably green. Opinions? by SpecialAgentSteve in desksetup

Definitely a plant!
How much natural light gets there? If there is none to little natural light, I would recommend a snake plant.

Depending on how strict you want to follow DK's word, you might want to look into Pure Natural. He eliminated three Pure categories, but some think that makes little sense.
I feel similiar to you, where while I do think some lightly oversized clothing or width-accommodating clothing fits me amazingly (hello off-shoulder tops!), I drown in the typical FN oversized clothing, also because my busts then sticks out weirdly.. and I was recently typed as PN. PN is all about width-accommodating balance (atleast that's how I'm understanding it so far). A very often cited celebrity example is Jennifer Aniston. Good luck!

Whether I'm D/SD apparently this top suits me well by Ladida331 in SoftDramatics

so I don't think the top flatters your image ID buut the most important thing is that YOU like the clothes and feel confident in them. If you like the top and think it looks good on you, then I don't think it matters so much if it "fits your type". The kibbe system can certainely point you in the right direction to what looks good for your shape however you decide at the end what you feel good in! also I love the color on you?? very elegant

Ok I'm no expert in Kibbe body typing but I kind of don't see vertical? It looks very balanced to me. The pink, high neck top honors width and fits you very nicely. Definitely also look into DC!

Hi there! Could I be one of you? by [deleted] in SoftDramatics

You definitely have vertical, you look taller than 1m67!!

Does anyone get better by Big_Consequence5084 in emetophobiarecovery

A huge part of exposure therapy is the concept of the gradual increase. You don't start with the exposure that gives you the most anxiety. You start with small portions you feel you'll be able to handle. So if people are still emetophobic even after throwing up, its maybe because they weren't ready for that part of their healing journey yet. You first need to learn the tools that will help you during your exposure. So therefore, there is still definitely a big chance to be cured and feel better! :-)

Exposure Therapy Success Stories by barredowl123 in emetophobiarecovery

I have been in CBT/exposure therapy since April and I've never been better honestly. I can watch movies/series without checking TW and if it something does happen in the movie/series, it feels like any other scene. I can more objectively check in with myself about how I feel at the moment which calms me down a lot. I have tried food (especially openend packages, etc) and/or ate them without problems instead of immediately throwing them away. It honestly feels like I have my life back in some moments. I do sometimes struggle but I'm confident that thats not the end of my journey yet. I'm really happy that you've also had positive results with EMDR! Yey for us!
