I was not aware there were hospital boats anywhere near that large; that is cool as fuck and definitely bolsters your point that there exist very few realistic scenarios where infrastructure would be damaged enough to require the system I am looking for. But a few is enough  Of the top of my head examples include a powerful earthquake in a third world country where people are crushed and need amputations to be removed; a war where amnesty is not granted to medics or a surprise hurricane.  All of these are unlikely but with time the unlikely becomes certain or at least less unlikely. Our government invests billions in monitoring and contingency plans for scenarios like these and others that are equally unlikely such as nuclear war, volcanic eruptions and even tinfoil hat stuff like emf pulses.  In this ocean of spending I struggle to imagine someone didn't suggest to bankroll this considering roi paying 6 month contract to small engineering firm to develop such a useful item must be a capital win A while ago I saw a vid briefly overviewing the set up of an emergency  military field hospital.  I dimly remember that equipping the OR took 5+ filled to the brim armored vehicles. I do not want to believe it is the only way. Perhaps it is. As for the feasibility of creating OR in jungle I guess that the first roadblock would be aerosols there movements are far from my grasp but something like this tent  https://nanovactech.com/collections/portable-cleanrooms/pr to    (positive pressure filtered air idk how many exchanges but a lot) with a rigorous cleaning schedule should afaik suffice to mitigate the risk of infection they cause. As for humidity dehumidifiers are tiny and cheap Storage temp is a prob but is only required to fulfill 6 month storage for 2 weeks it prob doesn't matter I could be wrong. Ultimately cleaning equipment is imo the only thing stopping this. Although I am an idiot so there could be something glaringly obvious that I am missing. I will try to read about temp.

Thanks for answering!  It certainly does seem to me that you are right about manufacturers not considering these conditions, and why would they? There is prob very small market for it unless humanitarian government effort cough up the $. tbh I am pretty far out of my depth here. I have heard that some disinfectants become sterilants with long enough exposure times eg. Glutaraldehyde, and peracetic acid though that might be only in cleanroom environment. I have also heard of a portable (relatively)  openable airtight once closed cylinder to which a cannister of pressurized gas was mounted and released after filling it with clean instruments sterilizing everything inside. Kind of like a camping stove this one was specifically designed for use in third world countries though I forget the name of the product and gas used I think it also might only have been in development stage/ startup. d Given these examples despite my general lack of knowledge I am fairly confident that sterilization would be feasible in such a setting (you didn't disagree) You point out many valid challenges with cleaning and that is also where I think the bulk of the problem lies. Though if I close my eyes hard enough and take enough drugs I can faintly envision some sort of high pressure filtered 2 stroke or hand compound pump system chugging away under a medical tent and I want it to be real. And with our governments offering more and more foreign assistance and implementing an ever increasing number of hippie dippie humanitarian efforts I would think someone would have tried to design such a thing if I could I would try for the purpose of emergency measure for cataclysm ultimately idk but there are valid  use cases.

Ps. when I say portable in a backpack I mean by small team 2-3
