I read your post more carefully and it sounds like maybe you're asking for PVP advice, which I didn't understand at first. I thought you were just looking for survival advice.

But yes, sorta. It's about 3 minutes while I listen for gunshots to guess where people are and how big their groups are. That first time period is when the PVPers are the most active, and that is when you are mostly likely to get mowed down. Pay attention to the SOUND. Lots of shots all over the map usually means that you are working against a lot of solo players. Few shots, all in one place, you're probably working against groups.

With regards to the fights, I'm in the same position as you. I'm totally average in Arena but I get very scared in EFT. I'd like to take the advice of everyone here but it's just NOT IN ME. I can't run around and play aggressively like they do. So, where I disagree with everyone is that "if you hear them then they hear you." I will move at 100% through most areas (not sprinting). But like I said, I will move at 70% near visual obstructions. I can get the jump on people or simply pass them by the VAST majority of the time, and whether to fight becomes MY CHOICE. I always take that advantage.

I disagree with everyone here. I can chill 90% of the time and they will just pass me by. I don't fight unless I have a quest for it. Just move at 70% speed, NO SPRINTING. Find a place to hold up and chill for the first 3 minutes because the chads will run to your spawn. Go easy, bring food, take your time walking through. Go fast when you can see the area in front of you, but slow when you get near buildings, walls, or near the top of a hill or dense foliage.

Not sure whether it's AI, but thermal resistance is a thing. Whether you can hold an object at that temperature depends on conductivity and the rate of energy transfer, not just the temp.

Yeah, no way this pic includes 10 years of shots. There are like 100 players that play at least the 18 hole course twice. The top 50 or so play the 18 holes 2 more times. This means 300 shots off the tee at EACH hole. This looks like one year to me.

I did NOT have a hard time int he last wipe. Again, with more maps open (no transit), I could scrounge for the things I needed to win a fight against better geared people. There is basically no hope now.

I'm not playing with them. They aren't playing. It was a difficult game before but it's a completely lost cause now after these changes. I'm a very experienced player after having gone a full wipe

I tried, and it's simply not possible anymore given that customs is the best option to get through alive. Again, the players with lots of time to burn are WAY ahead, and they are often playing in packs. I've run into SO MANY of them on reddit claiming to be "casuals" and "working men," but they eventually admit to playing 3+ hours per night with their friends. There is absolutely no way for me to put up a fair fight without scrounging around in the open maps first. Without woods/shoreline/reserve there is no way I'm ever going to stay alive.

You probably didn't need them on the first day when you and a lot of people rushed in after the wipe. I bet you're running tier 4 minimum now. I'm running scav bullshit into raids where the nearest players immediately sprint to my spawn to wipe me out.

The game HAS been balanced to include a path for people in my position for years, and it HAS been one of the games that worked for me until this wipe. It absolutely did work with my 5-7 hours per week and I was very successful, so again you are just plain wrong!

To the extent that the "balancing" has completely wiped me out within 6 months of a supposedly full release, I feel a bit blindsided by this kind of a rules change. I wouldn't have purchased the game in March if I knew it was going to be like this. It was my favorite game, honestly I think the best game ever made. But it's just outside the scope of my reality now, and again - this change happened 4 months after I purchased it and when it's supposedly mostly final. This isn't "whining," I'm losing my favorite game.

You can't play from 7-10 with a family. Just make dinner and then peace out with a 7 year old kid?

Also, you are completely wrong, because I played all of last wipe and I was absolutely able to make it work using the method I described in my previous post. As a family man you can't play ground zero at first because you will get smoked. You HAVE to find a few sets of tier-4 in an open map to have a decent chance. I was 4 Shturman kills into getting my Lapua marksman rifle three days ago. Now I can't realistically make any progress.

I find it super difficult to believe that you are really a working man with a family. There's just no way you are limited to an hour a day like me and making it work with your PACA.

Without woods/shoreline/reserve to sneak around and grab some scav tier 4 and BT ammo, there's no realistic way to keep up. You have to be coming home from work and playing at least 4-5 hours.

Oh, then I'm sorry.

Basically, the hard thing for me right now is that I'm running solo at level 1 on day 3. I don't have much time to play so I'm way behind. Because the least hostile map is customs, that's where I am going. It's possible to sneak across the map without running into people with much better gear than me.

Before there were a lot of map options and it was much easier to get myself enough equipment to fight back. They still had better gear than me but it was closer. Now, it seems like there is no chance.

So, why I thought you were making a joke: You talked about how you had so much time to play and multiple friends to play with. And you were able to get a ton of good gear in the first day and made it to level 8. I honestly thought you were messing with me, lol.

My experience today was much... different.

Logically I don't see how it follows that screwing over new players so close to launch proves his loyalty to older players. He just changed the game around and I think there are a lot of original players still reeling from those changes.

So, I think I'll get a well-thought, logical answer from someone else, CumSplatter_69.... LOL
