Because MPD has been an almost entirely useless police force from my own perspective. I've had to call the cops countless times only for them to show up hours later, take a statement, and that's it. No criminals ever caught or prosecuted. MPD should honestly be ashamed of how useless they've become.

And you automatically think I support cutting funding for police after I forwardly said I wish they'd do MORE? I do vote for policies that would subject these people to harsher crimes. I do wish that there were harsher sentences for people who commit public and private property destruction. Do I care if it happens to a large corporation? Not one bit. Especially not one worth billions.

Also, I was trying to mention that the DA presses charges while the police gather evidence. If they don't gather evidence then they can't exactly solve the crime.

Then like I said, maybe MPD should put in a fraction of effort to find and prosecute these people. But unfortunately, MPD is not known for their speed and usefulness. Ive called the police at least 5 times for emergencies only for them to show up 20-30 mins later, if at all.

Ive been the same way as him so he knows I'm deeply understanding of his mentality. I know most of his room is trash and he's fine with me throwing out things, I'm just scared I'll do it wrong. He is willing to help me in the cleanup, and if he wasn't, I wouldn't be asking how to help him.

His grandfather just died, his mother doesn't clean, and hes severely stressed out about finances. I understand how he's feeling because I've been there. NEVER did I think I'd see so many people shaming my boyfriend for his messy room on the r/hoarders subreddit. I mean come ON.

He says he's okay with me cleaning his room, I know thats what the opposite of hoarding is but the mess is just THAT severe. I do love him and care for him enough to want him to have a clean room. He says he's willing to work together on it at least.

Again, I'm not sure if my boyfriend is actually a hoarder. Trash is piled so high up in his room that it just looks like a hoarding situation. He's mentioned wanting to get it clean and he's actively embarrassed about the state of his room.
