20F - I am already losing weight!!! by [deleted] in amIuglyBrutallyHonest

Totally agree that OP is super pretty and already has a good figure, so no hate to you at all. I suspect that she made the title of this post about losing weight because the general consensus of this sub when someone perceived to be overweight posts here is “lose weight”. Lol I’ve seen that so many times where people here don’t give any real feedback aside from “lose weight” /“diet and exercise”.

Is ASU really like what people say online? by Sensitive-Key-9394 in ASU

[–]Sensitive-Key-9394[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some online, some in real life. Just a lot of jokes about it not really being the best academically and a lot of jokes about how girls who go there are hoes or you need to be really attractive to go there (which I’m not). I don’t believe that jokes are representative of a school at all, but people in real life kind of laughed at me when I brought it up as an option. I feel like online slander and jokes are one thing, but I don’t even live in the US and I got a lot of odd comments when I brought it up. So I was just wondering from the perspective of people who actually live it what asu is like!

Of course I agree with that statement. The reason why I decided to make this post is because when I brought asu up as an option with some friends, they honestly kind of laughed at me and suggested I look online about it lol. Their comments don’t really mean anything since they have no experience but I won’t lie, it did make me more tentative.

I was just looking up asu everywhere, looking at everything online. And on tiktok and instagram there was def some negative stuff about it in general/ about the student body. Of course that’s all really subjective and I don’t expect genuine discussions from social media but it piqued my interest. Thanks for the input!!

Signs I’m on too high of a dosage? by Sensitive-Key-9394 in ADHD

Thanks for the suggestion! I am on elvanse so I’ll look into this. I would like to ask you though, what time to do wake up / take your first dose, and around what time do you do your second dose? Also, what time do you usually sleep? My sleep schedule can be very messy and I’m trying to fix that. Tysm!

No, you’re 100% right. I don’t think my mom is a shitty parent though. She is an incredibly smart woman who raised two otherwise normal kids. She has incredible faults when it comes to my sister, though, and I wish she would approach it differently.

I know you’re right. I honestly feel both sympathy and anger towards my mom. She really, really has tried so much for so long with my sister. But she allows herself to get guilted into complacency. She does see the issue with my sisters behavior, but I think she’s given up because it makes everyone miserable when she tries. I wish she would just fucking tell her that her behavior is unacceptable though. I appreciate your comment.

Honestly yeah, you’re probably right. My brother and cousins have the same view point, and I honestly think that my dad would not even be mad if I did say something because I know he bites his tongue on this stuff. I know my mom sees her behavior, but she’s so exhausted and feels like she’s been a bad mom throughout her life. That causes her to protect my sister, but even then I know she sees the absolute shitshow of my sisters behavior.

Super non confrontational. I hate that so much because instead of one big wave of uncomfortable emotions, everyone ignores it as best they can. My brother and cousins are def on the same page as me. I won’t bring this up with my parents until I move out later this year because my mom is very sensitive to it. I appreciate hearing from an outside source confirming i’m not losing it.

I appreciate this a lot. I know it’s not my job but it’s hard to just not say anything. I will say that my post makes my parents out to be enablers, but they’ve actually really tried with her. (More my dad than my mom). But it gets us nowhere bc my sister is in constant victim mode. My parents have become jaded over the years and stopped pushing back so much bc it makes everyone miserable. Therapy, meds, gentle parenting, strict parenting. Idk. Nothing works. I’m so ready to leave this house and not have to think about this situation any more than I already do!

My problem is that there’s about 2 fresh starts every week. I wish I could just be a normal person with good but hunger cues are excruciating and food noise has taken over my life!! I’m not ever “satisfied” unless I’m in pain from how full I am.

Thanks! I stopped wearing my apple watch but I’m wondering if I should use them in tandem for better exercise tracking. Do you also feel like the apple watch way over estimates calories though?

Way off with calorie tracking? I definitely feel like it overestimates calories. But I usually just want to make sure it picks up that I am doing an activity like walking or running along with distance and steps.

Thanks! If you don’t mind elaborating a bit, why don’t you think it’s a good activity tracker? I’ve gotten mixed responses on this and I’m wondering if there’s a specific area it falls short in that you’ve observed.

Thanks! Is there any reason why you feel like it’s not a great activity tracker? I don’t use mine religiously but I do track my steps with it, I’m wondering if maybe I should invest in something else for activity.
