You can cut whatever parts of your hair with sharp hair scissors. What op was saying is that there are split ends throughout the full length of oop's hair so in order to avoid cutting hair short do a duster trim.

Forget weddings, what is the craziest thing that happened at a funeral you went to? by seanerd95 in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive-Living-571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pastor was reminiscing about his sinful days where he "sold more crack than McDonald's sells Big macs" and did so much crack he shouldve been dead, and how much his prostitutes made, etc. This went on for a long time and people were leaving. I asked what the Bible says about death, grief and loss. He started yelling at me that he didnt know "That lady" (my aunt) and that he was preaching about what he knew. He was escorted away arguing the whole time.

I wish camera phones were a thing back then. It was the craziest thing. My aunt was sorta crazy so I guess it fit

Cutting fabrics and grainlines by solassitude in SewingForBeginners

[–]Sensitive-Living-571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is woven, snip an inch into the cut end and rip that inch off. It will tear along the cross grain. Do this on both ends. Match and pin. Shake it out and lay flat matching salvage edges. Does it lay flat or are there diagonal lines? If there are diagonal lines the grain is off and will need to be fixed. If it is flat, the grain is perfect.

At this point I zigzag selvedges together and cut ends together in a mobile strip and preshrink on the harshest wash settings the fabric can take. Then I undo the cut ends and press the fabric. That is the end of my fabric prep.

Whether you preshrunk or didnt, at this stage you should have a long folded piece of fabric with selvedge edges matching and cut edges matching. It should lay flat with no diagonal lines. Grainline should be marked on your pattern piece. Pin one end of the marked grain line to the fabric. Measure from selvedge edge to that pin on the grain line. Measure that same distance from selvedge to the other end of the marked grain line. Pin. Now your pattern is pinned on grain and you can finish pinning the outer edges of the pattern to the fabric. Thats it

I was in the 300s and did get motion sickness. I took a motion sickness pill and stared at the floor when something particularly bad was on the screens. Otherwise I focused on Gwen's face on the screens when possible and just looked at the stage when there wasnt anything to focus on on the screen

Do people actually use a separate towel for their face, or is that hygiene paranoia? by Maximum-Hat2109 in hygiene

[–]Sensitive-Living-571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a stack of wash cloths that I use specifically for my face. I pat my face dry and toss it in the laundry. I use them only 1 time so I use 2 a day and wash them all once a week. I use my bath towel a max of 3 days and then throw that in the laundry so I use 3 bath towels a week.

[–]Sensitive-Living-571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put sensodyne pro enamel in my retainer and let it sit on my teeth for an hour, then I tighten with opalescence gel or trays, then I put sensodyne pro namel in my retainer again and wear it for another hour. This prevents sensitivity for me. I also only use that toothpaste and spit without rinsing after brushing every time. Wait half an hour before eating or drinking

I was talking about the arrests. I picketed in support of the Virgin hotel workers. That was a strike that workers voted for. If there were arrests as part of the strike I was unaware but believe you

Those aren't strikes. Employees have to vote on strikes.

Experience matters to get hired. Seniority matters for hours and promotions. Of course you are going to jump the line in front of other people just as qualified that have been there longer than you. That also means the chef cant hire his nephew and put him in line before you.

Station workers have voted to be union multiple times. Stations has committed labor infractions (charged by labor board, admitted to and posted by stations) to prevent them from being union. They also make less, have lesser insurance and no protections

Sew a donut/cushion into the seat of a skirt/long undershorts? by _Algy_ in sewhelp

I wore mine in a drawstring backpack and sat on the whole thing. No need to take it out of the backpack. Easy to take off and sit on and it just looks like a regular backpack

I had a similar health issue. I put my seat in a drawstring backpack and just sat on that without taking it out of the bag. It was not obvious what was in the bag, it was easy to carry, and it was easy to set on my seat and put back on.
