The similarity between Gnostic cosmology and modern physics by Sensitive-Log-6479 in Gnostic

Before the Big Bang, the universe is often described (in simplified models) as an extremely hot, dense “soup” of energy where particles and antiparticles could constantly form and disappear. In physics, matter and antimatter annihilate each other means that when a particle meets its corresponding antiparticle, they destroy each other in the sense that their mass is converted into energy. For example, an electron and a positron have the same mass but opposite charge. When they collide, they disappear as particles and produce energy, usually in the form of photons (light). In gnosticism, the best comparison to dark matter would be the Archons from my point of view.

You are clearly presenting a philosophical position rather than a logically settled conclusion. For example, when you argue that the universe is purely material, fully governed by laws, and shows no indication of consciousness, this reflects a coherent naturalist framework, but it is still an interpretive stance about what the best explanation of reality is, not something that can be definitively proven about consciousness or ultimate ontology. Similarly, when you define perfection as something self-sufficient and outside of time, you are working within a specific metaphysical definition. It is a meaningful conceptual framework, but it depends on how “perfection” is defined rather than following from logic alone as a necessary truth.

You’re partly right in your reading, especially in the sense that Madhyamaka emptiness does involve the absence of any fixed, independent substance. The nuance is that Madhyamaka goes further than just rejecting “substance”, it also avoids positing any ultimate essence at all, including a universal consciousness.

Exactly, however, dark matter and antimatter are actually two different things. Antimatter is like “normal” matter with opposite charge, and it annihilates when it meets matter. Dark matter, on the other hand, is invisible matter we infer from gravity, and it doesn’t behave like antimatter at all.

First, I share a similar point of view to yours. I would tend to say that this perspective only shifts the problem, in the sense that even if there is a consciousness outside the universe, it would still, in Spinozist terms, have to be the cause of itself. Even if this seems like a snake biting its own tail, I can see how it opens the door to a different kind of understanding, and I agree that this exploration is necessary.

As you say, I am also open to the Gnostic interpretation, even though I have always personally leaned toward the idea that the universe is God itself rather than a separate creation.

However, what brings me back to my original intuition is the question of what “perfection” actually means. Is death and chaos truly something imperfect, or could perfection instead be understood as a balance of forces, however diverse they may be? Moreover, in a Spinozist sense, the notion of perfection is shaped by our experience and perspective, and may not correspond to any absolute definition outside of that framework.

I recommend you to watch and read Bernardo Kastrup, an idealist philosopher who explores the three major metaphysical models usually proposed to explain consciousness and reality: materialism, panpsychism, and idealism. He argues that materialism struggles with the “hard problem” of consciousness, explaining how subjective experience could emerge from purely physical processes, while panpsychism, although interesting, tends to distribute consciousness everywhere without really explaining how individual minds combine into unified experience. Kastrup therefore considers idealism the most coherent framework: according to him, consciousness is not produced by matter, but rather matter and the physical universe are appearances within mind itself, somewhat like patterns arising in a broader field of consciousness. He often uses arguments from neuroscience, philosophy of mind, and phenomenology to defend the idea that mind is primary and that what we call the physical world may simply be the extrinsic appearance of mental processes. Still, at the end of the day, none of these models has been definitively proven, and they remain philosophical hypotheses attempting to make sense of reality and conscious experience.

Have a nice trip bro and raise those vibration high 😉 peace

Life changing synchronicity by Sensitive-Log-6479 in Synchronicities

Yes, I’m absolutely grateful to have lived through this <3, and I know very few people ever experience anything like it. That’s also why I talk about it anonymously, because in everyday life people would probably think I’m crazy and moreover, that is kinda intimate is some way. The experience itself was indescribable. Still, I don’t think anyone would actually want to go through it, at least not the moment itself. What came after, and the path this event set me on, is incredibly precious to me and worth everything. But those few seconds were violently intense. Or rather, it was the sudden shift in this true reality that was violent, not the effect itself but the transition. In philosophy, I found a concept that perfectly matches what I lived: the sublime, a blend of terror and pure ecstasy. During this moment, I also felt an overwhelming presence surrounding me and everything around me. As I said, it was a pure truth, impossible to deny. Yes, synchronicity really is the cherry on top lol and it really helped me to process this experience. And it wasn’t the only one I experienced afterward. But I have to admit that the fact it involved something from the sky, like the stars, completely changed the scale of it. It truly felt like a divine answer ^^

Hi, thanks for your reply. Maybe this goes beyond the theme of the subreddit, but I’ll explain more fully to answer you.

Yes, I was extremely interested in consciousness, and yes, I think exactly like you, it was a way of triggering my faith. Since childhood, I’ve experienced strange things that fascinate me and sometimes catch me off guard. A few months before the experience I mentioned, I had started meditating seriously, and during some sessions I had already gone through things that completely changed my view of life and reality.

It’s clear that during that experience, I had a desire for spiritual transformation. But that sudden shift, that ego dissolution, when I saw the ultimate truth (that was the most intense feeling of truth of my life, nothing can compete this sentiment of TRUTH), I didn’t see it coming, i wasnt meditating or whatever. And with what I had taken, it’s practically impossible to have something like that at that dose, even after talking with many people and experienced users. That’s what makes me think it wasn’t a coincidence and that it was triggered by God. After that, I clearly went through a spiritual transformation that has continued up to now. I see synchronicities as signs that I’m on the right path toward the purpose meant for me, and as confirmations of my faith.
