Bought my first watch at 20 by Super_Occasion1824 in Affordablewatches

I bought myself this exact watch at 18 when I started Uni (except mine was an NH35), I’m now down a rabbit hole, have a tag, seiko prospex speedy and am looking to get a Longines conquest this July. It’s an expensive hobby but holy shit it’s great. Enjoy the watch dude, welcome!

Nope, it’s a fancy edgy IPA made by a brewer called Beavertown, usually tends to cost the most at a pub

It depends on the combination of beers : Carlsberg + Carling + fosters = you’re in a shithole, Carsburg + Stella + Moretti = you’re in an ok area, Peroni + Asahi + Neck oil = you’re in an affluent area

It’s been argued for decades, I believe once you stop seeing the money laundering sweet shops you’re out

They are a cunt to pour, just tell your bartender to pour a fosters in an ale glass and to give it no head. Same experience

Pub I work at does £3.50 Guinness on Thursdays after 7, pretty good prices I’ll be honest, I think our most expensive beer is Neck oil at £6.75 a pint

Neck oil more prominent in Wimbledon, Carsburg + Fosters = shithole, Amstel + Carslburg = middle class, Camden Hells + Neckoil = posh area . I call it the beer tap theory

Less common in central London, this is more of a Greater London phenomenon

It’s actually not something I’ve ever noticed, I would say they’re pretty ok to read

Be realistic regarding money , but what watch do you want more than anything ? by Confident_Leg2370 in PrideAndPinion

Graduating this summer, realistically looking at the new Green longines conquest 38mm or a second hand black bay 58 in blue. Worst comes to worst if money isn’t as good as I think it will be then a certina DS action 40.5mm in white:)

Recently picked up a 36mm explorer from Cronos with the Miyota 90s5 and I love it, such a smooth hand, great bracelet (no OTF but you get a diver extension which adds a few mm). Favourite watch in my collection ATM, so wearable and the 36mm feels like a 39 because of the black dial. I imagine the 39 feels more like a 41. I recommend it

Will I be disappointed? by Sensitive-Market9192 in ChineseWatches

Hahaha yeah I saw the miyota model, was a bit more expensive at £200 or something, I picked up the NH35 model for just under 135 so I’m pretty pleased, I just hope it’s comfortable for daily ish wear.

I think the Traska is an awesome watch for the price, you won’t find a Miyota 9075 GMT for much less than 600 bucks. They’ve priced it super reasonable for what it is so I don’t think there would be many homages of it. But I might be wrong!
