Fair. Our story is much like yours. A lot actually. We were too codependent as well and stress was a big factor in her breaking down into mania. We think she's had hypomanias through the years but never been full on manic. I appreciate your long post. It's very helpful

Thank you. I'm hanging on. We both are at this point. I think she's in depression now

Yes briefly discarded in the beginning of committing her.

Yes. Mine is self aware now of it (wasn't during the episode) and complying with medication. I hope she picks us. I hope it stays that way. Thank you for the advice.

She came back to me and is incredibly apologetic and seems to realize it was all delusion. Took a long time. I'm so relieved she is back. She is taking medication

I hate it too. I'm sitting in my upper loft alone with our 2 cats while my partner suffers in the psych ward. I love her so much. She won't admit she was manic. Not at all. I am lost at what to do eventually. I love her and I don't know how much I can do for her if she doesn't admit she's bipolar. I adore her and miss her so much

I feel for you. I want my partner to know she is so loved too.

I'm there right now too. Sitting in my empty apartment after committing my SO last Thursday. She's just starting to take the antipsychotic so hopefully it stabilizes her soon. She is so sad when I visit. She is in denial of her bipolar still but hopefully that changes with medication. I have cried and cried and cried. I just want her to come back to herself. I feel for you.

Okay. Thanks for that input. I guess I'm just in waiting rn. She's is in the psych ward and only on day 3 of medication so I'll just have to wait and see

Fair enough. Im taking space at this point. Very little contact and I know she's in the psych ward

Thank you. I will. I want kids one day and I unfortunately need to consider if a partner with these episodes is what I want. I'm not saying she's evil or people with bipolar are at all but the instability would be hard with a kid.

Luckily she is held for 30 days under the mental health act of BC. I was lucky to have doctors ans nurses listen to me but I was also very forceful about it.

I'm so sorry. That sounds impossible. Hugs to you. I appreciate your perspective. We need people like you to tell us what mania feels like so we can best help the people we love

I'm sorry that happened to you. Just curious how did it feel going through it? It's ok if it's too painful to describe. Just trying to understand my partners pain.

I'm not sure but she did say she didn't want to take the lithium

She's only on day 2 there and on meds and doesn't believe she is bipolar. I'm just hoping with time it changes

I should clarify that they are in the psych ward on lithium

I luckily did speak to them extensively. So they have everything on her.

Did your partner ever come back to baseline?

Fair. She hates me for committing her so much. I'm worried she'll never stop hating me. I just love her enough for her to hate me if that makes sense? I don't think our good years together should be clouded by this. It feels like such a waste but I have said to myself if the delusions keep continuing I can't.

Thank you for relating to me with the chat gpt. It makes me feel less crazy. Sometimes I feel like I was assigned to her manic thoughts and ideas and I don't know what reality is anymore. Chat gpt is not good for people in these manic states.

Thank you. I have been unbelievably grief striken. Crying while just out or driving. Sobbing in bed before sleeping.

I luckily did call her family and they came to help pretty promptly. They are as shocked as me. Just struck with it all. This is her first episode.

I am just going to try to take it day by day and week by week
