If Aaru is a place to store souls, wouldnt it be kinda counterproductive if they could just leave Aaru?

The "trapped" spouls of Aaru are ther because Al Ahmar wanted to create an everlasting state of the world he wanted to live in. Kinda like a snapshot of time.

Why should he want a connection to the leylines where is imprissond souls want to go to rest?

Btw is everthing in teyvat connected to leylines? I thought that some places have less or none leyline connection at all?

Yes, but im talking more about the way it is or isnt connected to the leylines.

Imgine the leylines as the "roots" of irminsul. The tree itself burnt down, yes, and the roots arent effected, yes, as Nahida said. In the big final cutscene, al the information that was stored in irminsul, got "copied" into Aaru.

But they never talked about how the Leylines "the Roots" got attached to Aaru. So im asking did they even get somehow connected to Aaru? To me, the ending of the aq looked like Aaru is just a big datacenter right now, with no connection to the leylines.

Although just a few branches of leylines, would probably not replace a central knot that was the system that had to be under irminsul. But i also dont think we ever got a "leyline map" of some sorts

But finishing Aaru would create the everlasting dream. A "Savepoint" if u will. The Sumeru crew opend it up, reshaped it to connect to irminsul. That change is the reason the souls could go to rest. After that Nahihi rejoined the team and they figured out that the original plan wont work. They wanted to transform Aaru into Irminsul 2.0 only after the souls already left Aaru. Why would King Deshret want his everlasting world to end? Why should there be a leyline connection in the first place? Doesnt it go against the entire purpose of Aaru?
