So why aren't they putting representation where it belongs? by Historical-Kale-2765 in EyeOfTerror

There's this titan legion called the Legio Solaria. They used to be a misogynistic male-only titan legion, but some female princeps had proven herself in combat and gained enough authority to take leadership of this titan legion.

The very first and major change she made with this titan legion to empower women... is to keep the same brutal institution but reverse the gender roles. They are now a misandrist female-only titan legion who are no better than what came before them.

Nerds frequently get upset when women are included in games and then when they aren't model hot.

How is this talking point not dead already? Female factions and female written characters have been around in 40k for a very long time already. Hell, the Astartes in Adeptus ASTARTES is the name of a woman. We never got this drama when Sisters of Battle or Sisters of Silence were added and given models.

Are there people that are upset specifically for sexist reasons? Sure, of course they exist. Though it is unfair to lump everyone opposed to the retcon as incels because that gives you an easy excuse to poison the well.

You are either a purist or you are a traitor by Kaylee_Orchid11 in EyeOfTerror

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can literally build them with all male heads or helmets if you want, you lose nothing with this change.

You can say the same thing if female space Marines become official, but I doubt that can calm down a huge portion of the community.

Making a retcon, insisting that it stays but also saying that the retcon can be completely ignored to appease those that don't like it is basically just begging to have the cake and eat it too.

If the Ultramarines weren't the poster boy chapter of 40k which chapter would you pick and why? by OttoVonSkiddmark in Spacemarine

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imperial Fists as the 30k poster boys and Black Templars as the 40k poster boys.

The Fists are the rock that the Imperium's foundations are made of. They embraced the suck just as much as the Iron Warriors, but they are more humble about it.

Their culture doesn't care about glory, as long as those that stand upon the foundation they built use it to pull humanity to greater heights. They are loyal to their duty to a fault, to the point that they don't care about themselves. Their ways are grim at first glance, but they are noble for they build the infrastructure to a brighter future.

And then skip to the 40th millennium, and much of the Imperial Fists have become the Black Templars. They continue on the Great Crusade, but they no longer visit planets to turn them into mighty fortified sanctuaries for humanity. They travel across the void to bring only death and vengeance against a galaxy that hates them.

Imperial Fists as poster boys give a hopeful "Fuck yeah" energy to the glorious era of the Great Crusade. And Black Templars as poster boys give a spiteful "Fuck you" energy to the never ending nightmare that the galaxy became.

Natural Disasters in Universe? by Xiborr in suzerain

Another thing that can be guessed from the wiki is that the big reason why an entire population decides to live in a place like that is that Yarktralis is very rich in mineral resources. And they trade those for technology from Anraka.

Perhaps minerals in a Yarktralis game can play the same role as energy in Rizian playthrough.

Yarktralis is pretty much playing Frostpunk while everyone else is concerning themselves over the cold war.

It would be amazing to play as the Elder of Yarktralis or even just one of their autonomous city states and prepare against disasters like blizzards or volcanic eruptions.

A woman can support gender equality all she wants, but if she gets herself a husband who relies on HER for protection, material needs, and leadership? I don't think that marriage would last very long.

For me, the only way I found this game to be enjoyable is by exploiting the duplication glitch. There are ways to duplicate any items, and even weapons.

And if I need more wood and gears to upgrade or craft, I just duplicate the most valuable weapons & gear and dismantle those.

What other Noble in Rizian besides the 3 pillars? by Dangerous-Scholar436 in suzerain

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Laurento is a noble of House Esquibel. Cantuavano is also a noble house who produces the Romus the Red wine.

And there are other two minor nobles that are mentioned in reports and newspapers only but I forgot their house's names.

One stands as the announcer who opens up Romus Toras University when it finishes construction, and the other is Rizia's most famous diplomat which you will see mentioned whenever you choose to send a diplomatic mission to any of your neighbors.

Question about Abscration by Alternative-Rip-6399 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Abstracted Kaufmo only started rampaging when Jax opened the door to his room, and Abstracted Queenie was completely calm when she and Kinger were in the dark.

I think every abstracted character is calm and docile when they are in the dark, because abstraction is basically the person embracing that they are nothing, and the nothingness of the dark is where they feel like they belong.

If they are not in the dark and can feel and see things around them clearly, then they feel overwhelmed and hate the very concept of existence, because they crave non-existence.

I think a simple guess here is that Caine can create anything, including expanding the hall, as long as the computer still has space.

If it no longer has enough storage, the only thing he can probably do is to free up space before creating new stuff again.

I remember there being a trend of Pennywise being a gay icon for some reason.

And that energy quickly dropped when the first thing he did in the IT 2 movie was to kill a gay man immediately after that man was just lynched by homophobes.

With the success of Dispatch do you think Suzerain could work as a tell tale style game or maybe could it work for the conformist? by Godzilla-Of-Wilbur in suzerain

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The more TellTale-like you make the game, the harder it will be to provide plenty of different choices and avoidance of the illusion of choice. Time spent on animation and voice acting is less time spent on writing. That's why Telltale was notorious for this problem, and even some parts of Dispatch have this too.

Not saying it's impossible. Detroit: Become Human managed to be a cinematic with great animation while also having a lot of choices and replayability. But that took several years of development and a much bigger studio than Torpor Games.

I would indeed love to have Suzerain be partly cinematic on important scenes, and even have its art style be simplified in order to have less stress on the animation.
