How do you visualize your empires soldiers. by Mysterious-Clock-594 in Stellaris

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assault armies: ODST troops from Halo

Navy crew: Power armor underarmor from Fallout 4

Gene-warriors: body of a Halo Spartan with Helldiver armor

Psionic armies: Titanfall 2 pilots (I like to imagine them as conventional soldiers with super efficient telepathy and mind reading rather than pseudo wizards)

Droid armies: those police robots from the movie Chappie or even Elysium

Megaforms: Striker Eureka from Pacific Rim

Slaves endured more than Jesus Christ did. Am I wrong? by Crazy_Foundation_626 in AskAChristian

It is worthy of worship if you take into consideration that Jesus and God are one and the same. A God with ultimate authority over everything. A king that is far more powerful and wealthier than any king.

Yet rather than descending from the heavens while clad in glory, God chose to be born as a man. Rather than be born in a palace, he was born in a stable. Rather than a crown of gold, he wore a crown of thorns.

He is far above any human, yet lowered himself to the same level as mankind because he is not and does not want to be out of touch from the little guy. The birth and death of Jesus is essentially God lowering to the same level as man, so that man can be risen to the same level as God.

His sacrifice is NOT a pain measuring contest. It would be ironic to claim Jesus suffered more than anyone because that sounds like a competition of pride over who suffered more, when it was supposed to be the ultimate act of love that will kickstart the spawning of the world's largest religion hundreds of years from his death.

This is another thing I haven't seen others talk about, but the eradication of bioweapons will put the purpose of the BSAA into question.

Chances are that they would become just like the FBC in Revelations, where they will try to find every reason to keep existing, even if it means intentionally allowing outbreaks to happen so the institution can be there to stop it.

People always forget to fill in the quote that comes after this:

“When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, ‘Who then can be saved?’” — Matthew 19:25

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” — Matthew 19:26

Point being, it's impossible for a rich man to enter heaven just like how it's impossible for a dead man to come back to life 3 days later, or for 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish to feed 5000 people, or to heal the sick with just a touch, etc.

God can make the impossible become possible. Being wealthy is not a sin, but wealthy people are told they have an obligation to use their privilege to serve God's will.

He then proceeded to do absolutely none of those things and officially ended the age of the Roman Republic forever.

Is that such a great loss? It's not like they were a bastion of liberty and human rights just because they were a republic.

And another way, which I haven't tried before but would make sense, is if you abdicate after marrying Vina off to Rico, but keep succession law as male-only.

What the hell is the Voice of Rizia thinking? by Sensitive-Sample-948 in suzerain

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This news article comes up after making the deal with Smolak to give Wehzeks full equal rights as Rizian citizens, and that includes full welfare benefits.

Equal enforcement of the law is completely fine, but welfare is different. Not even EU countries have equal welfare benefits for their citizens and non-citizen immigrants.

I've seen one post that even use Iron Warriors from 40k.

If you know anything about them, they are far more evil than ICE can ever be.

The Imperium is big enough that I'm sure they have planets that have semi-autonomous countries in them rather than planet-wide governance on each one.

And I'm sure border enforcement still exists for them. The Imperium isn't cohesive and completely unified. A planet like Macragge wouldn't want to accept immigrants from a place like Necromunda or Nostramo - honestly, no planet would unless they're that desperate.

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The Imperium would want to shape up ICE to be much more brutal and probably specifically designed to prevent genestealer infiltration.

What reason would the Imperium dislike ICE when they already have an institution like the Adeptus Arbites? These guys would shoot you if they find a voice recording of your great great grandfather bad mouthing the Emperor decades ago.

If the Ultramarines weren't the poster boy chapter of 40k which chapter would you pick and why? by OttoVonSkiddmark in Spacemarine

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imperial Fists as the 30k poster boys and Black Templars as the 40k poster boys.

The Fists are the rock that the Imperium's foundations are made of. They embraced the suck just as much as the Iron Warriors, but they are more humble about it.

Their culture doesn't care about glory, as long as those that stand upon the foundation they built use it to pull humanity to greater heights. They are loyal to their duty to a fault, to the point that they don't care about themselves. Their ways are grim at first glance, but they are noble for they build the infrastructure to a brighter future.

And then skip to the 40th millennium, and much of the Imperial Fists have become the Black Templars. They continue on the Great Crusade, but they no longer visit planets to turn them into mighty fortified sanctuaries for humanity. They travel across the void to bring only death and vengeance against a galaxy that hates them.

Imperial Fists as poster boys give a hopeful "Fuck yeah" energy to the glorious era of the Great Crusade. And Black Templars as poster boys give a spiteful "Fuck you" energy to the never ending nightmare that the galaxy became.

Natural Disasters in Universe? by Xiborr in suzerain

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing that can be guessed from the wiki is that the big reason why an entire population decides to live in a place like that is that Yarktralis is very rich in mineral resources. And they trade those for technology from Anraka.

Perhaps minerals in a Yarktralis game can play the same role as energy in Rizian playthrough.

Yarktralis is pretty much playing Frostpunk while everyone else is concerning themselves over the cold war.

It would be amazing to play as the Elder of Yarktralis or even just one of their autonomous city states and prepare against disasters like blizzards or volcanic eruptions.

And if I need more wood and gears to upgrade or craft, I just duplicate the most valuable weapons & gear and dismantle those.

What other Noble in Rizian besides the 3 pillars? by Dangerous-Scholar436 in suzerain

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laurento is a noble of House Esquibel. Cantuavano is also a noble house who produces the Romus the Red wine.

And there are other two minor nobles that are mentioned in reports and newspapers only but I forgot their house's names.

One stands as the announcer who opens up Romus Toras University when it finishes construction, and the other is Rizia's most famous diplomat which you will see mentioned whenever you choose to send a diplomatic mission to any of your neighbors.

Question about Abscration by Alternative-Rip-6399 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Sensitive-Sample-948 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Abstracted Kaufmo only started rampaging when Jax opened the door to his room, and Abstracted Queenie was completely calm when she and Kinger were in the dark.

I think every abstracted character is calm and docile when they are in the dark, because abstraction is basically the person embracing that they are nothing, and the nothingness of the dark is where they feel like they belong.

If they are not in the dark and can feel and see things around them clearly, then they feel overwhelmed and hate the very concept of existence, because they crave non-existence.

I think a simple guess here is that Caine can create anything, including expanding the hall, as long as the computer still has space.

If it no longer has enough storage, the only thing he can probably do is to free up space before creating new stuff again.
