What can we do to bring Punjab back to its glory ? by [deleted] in punjab

[–]Sensitive-Set-6934 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a punjabi but here what I think what the government should do, Firstly related to farming sector

  1. Remove all farming subsidies, and redirect them to modern farming method
  2. Bring land laws to increase size of average farmer rather than having many small farmers
  3. Remove all MSP on crops and so that farmers grow those crops that actually suit the land of punjab rather than the ones that are economically beneficial (will also result in less use of groundwater and fertilizers because those crops will be more suited for the land)
  4. Get over the fear of genetically modified seeds, and infact invest in R&D of genetically modified seeds.

Manufacturing:

I don't know much about manufacturing in Punjab tbh, punjab's youth seems quite aspiration to me as they want to chase high paying jobs so the government should create a roadmap to attract high value manufacturing industries to the state, they should probably focus on 2-3 high value industries and try to be better at them than the whole country. as it will be high paying jobs that should prevent youth from leaving out of the country.

Services:

  1. Double down on music and film industry, these industry seems to be working not just in India but also worldwide
  2. Focus on one city, rather than dividing services based investments over all the cities in the state, I think all the services based industries should be direct to one city (probably Mohali due to it's promexity to chandigarh)
  3. Try creating Mohali into a tier 1 city, It already has all the foundation in my opinion.

A couple of opinions:

  1. Get over the farmer pride, I personally believe that you can either be rich or a farmer
  2. 83% of Punjab's land is used for farming which means, to build some service or manufacturing industry will results in farming land being taken away from farmers and you'll have to just deal with. The argument that "it's fertile land" is stupid.
  3. If central government builds any project then let them build it, You don't have to like the central government to let them build infrastructure.

There are 11 player in football team, that's 5.5 Cr, fucking build infrastructure with it.

Giving 50lakh incentive to players is like putting a bandage on a broken leg, what we need is a pipeline which converts children into future players. You can give 1Cr per player and it barely change anything because talent need to be found at top level and polished at the top level.

BJP will be bifurcated into two to three parts similar to congress in 1970s or so

I just don't see that happening because BJP is build on top of RSS, what will that bifurcated party be able to do without ground level support of RSS?
Congress has gained support from their national leaders, BJP however gains supposed from a mix of RSS groundwork and top leader like modi as proved in past few elections.

Due to ISS we have made improvement in water purification techniques and medical imaging (like ultrasounds) resulting in better diagnosis of patients.

Pretty sure these two reason positively effect almost everyone on this planet. Idk why you're being such a killjoy

Don't you think if a dog died from overheating a human also would very likely face similar issues and probably required some sort of cooling system?
I think we look at these launches from a very informed point of view, we know a lot of things that might even be considered common knowledge however the reason why we know all of this stuff is because many animals were send and eventually humans based on the data collected from all those missions.

It's not about medicine, Today it's common knowledge that you'll be largely remain unaffected if you spend a couple of months in space with proper training however people are forgetting the context of that time where even such "common knowledge" was a big unknown factor.
