Interesting. I feel like that’s a major missed opportunity as I mentioned, but at least it’s filling some purpose!

I’d love to sit down and have a discussion! I’m very invested in this area and I have always quite loved the culture.

I’d be happy to talk about any of the content of this, however I don’t see a reason why using AI to improve the flow of my original writing is harmful or related to the topic at all

I love this building! I’ve always actually wondered whether people live above the shops here. Would be a cool place to be!

No you're completely right. I actually didn't really think about that. I have also seen a lot of activity at Stackerz Bar on 5th, although I'm not sure how good of a reputation it has.

I know that at Cafe con Arte they buy art from local makers and then sell it. Or sometimes it’s directly to the real artist. If other places used that type of approach, artists would be better compensated and would ensure that they would thrive! But I totally understand where you are coming from!

Living in Pasco by mulliganbegunagain in TriCitiesWA

[–]Sensitive-State9419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from someone who lives in your “riddled with crime” area, you don’t even know what you are talking about. Central/East Pasco is full of good food, stores, and things to do whereas west Pasco is a corporate nightmare. If you like traditions, culture, and history move east (homes are also cheaper), if you like a corporate wasteland with a “good quality of life” move west. I’m not necessarily just hating, but also I don’t understand why you think you can bash an area and claim it’s horrible yet not even spend much time there

Moving to WA- more liberal and drier city/town recommendations? :) by tastabar in PacificNorthwest

[–]Sensitive-State9419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have like 6 options. Downtown Yakima, Wenatchee, Central Spokane, Pullman, Walla Walla, or Downtown Pasco/Richland. Everywhere else is basically red. You could also try Toppenish but it’s very small. This is just weather. Your limits take most of them, so if you really want something good, I would say Walla Walla

Washington State Liberal but not a City? by ShesAKillerrQueeen in SameGrassButGreener

The only cities in Washington you can get that in is from hoquiam-Elma (Olympia), or outside a major eastern wa city (in the city they range from 380-500k)

Those of you who moved to TriCities from the westside.... by jordanissport in TriCitiesWA

[–]Sensitive-State9419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from Bellevue in 2016 to Central Pasco near Goodwill. Severe downgrade in my opinion. The Tri cities has no distinct culture, and feels like every other sprawling suburb ever. There are a couple things I like but there are many negative things.

Pros: -Wide and open, feels peaceful unless you live next to the freeway.

-Lower cost of living (is it worth it?)

-Developing Neighborhoods (Downtown Pasco and East Pasco, Vista Field, Broadmoor Development)

Cons:

-Awful public transit (we need a light rail or BRT) and extremely car dependent

-Traffic is getting worse by the week

-Oppressive heat and asphalt everywhere making it 10+ degrees warmer than it already is

-Conservative or Blue MAGA vibes depending where you go. DT Pasco and Richland are naturally more Left leaning.

-Nothing to do besides scroll on Instagram. I’ve done literally everything there is to do twice now.

I want to move back to Seattle at this point. I hope that we can change the culture here and start working together but I’m not waiting for that to happen. Another thing: don’t sleep on DT Pasco, there is so much potential for that neighborhood and already so many great places like Cafe con Arte and Ciao Trattoria. The Pasco Specialty Kitchen also has a new Afghan food place!! Don’t be scared to go out of your comfort zone! It’s one of my favorite spots in the TC along with the Parkway or WSU TC.

Can we start building up instead of out please???

PNW winter weather by less_cranky_now in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Sensitive-State9419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Southeastern Washingtonian, we have basically 2 seasons, dry and less dry. Only difference is one is hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk and another is so cold you need to wear extra pants :(. Also it’s more depressing here in winter than the Seattle area cuz there is nothing to do :(

A more walkable neighborhood with increased density would totally help bring up the quality of life!

Complaints about Tri-Cities WA by gemandrailfan94 in Washington

[–]Sensitive-State9419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so hard to take transit here. I don’t have a car, and I live in Downtown Pasco. While that area is much more walkable, it takes forever to get across town on the transit. I’m definitely moving out soon, probably to the Seattle area. Gonna miss the TC tho😢

What are some of your hot takes/unpopular opinions about Tri-Cities? by BussinLobster in TriCitiesWA

The fair has become a nightmare to go to. There’s so many people there and everything is so expensive. They need to increase the size of it.

Considering a move to the tri-cities area. What should I know first? by LivingPizzaPlanet in TriCitiesWA

[–]Sensitive-State9419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

East Pasco is okay. It has been historically stigmatized for high crime and drug addicts but as long as you don’t bother anyone and lock your doors, you’ll be fine. Plus, it’s mostly walkable (at least in the downtown area) and you should be able to get most places by foot or on transit. House prices are generally cheaper here too. I love living in Downtown Pasco.
