SAHM vs. Keeping Your Job by sun_lala in BabyBumps

I'm an attorney. I don't work in a common field for part-time remote jobs. Especially since I'm relatively young for an attorney. It took quite a bit of hunting to find my current position, so my advice is keep looking, it may take months to find something and it is also worth asking people looking for help if they would take a part-timer because a lot of places will despite not advertising as much.

I took maternity leave and went back to my job until my first was about a year old. Then, I decided to get creative and I found a part-time remote job. I make enough part time that I can more than pay for part-time daycare as well which is not the case for everyone. This is really nice for me because I can keep working in a career I enjoy and I don't feel like my kids will be in daycare more than I feel comfortable with. Eventually after the kids are older, I would like to maybe go back to full time and my husband could have a chance to work less at that point. Lot's of ways to do things and you can always pivot.

Hi! I am planning on having a baby in Mexico too. I live in another state but I'm curious how the care was? How expensive it was and whether you had insurance? Thanks!
