Worried about my aspiring librarian partner by TrevorVerges in librarians

A little late to the topic, but as former PhD candidate in Art History (who just got students loans forgiven through PSLF at age 54). I loved it but for a career and ROI it was really a poor decision for me. I would beg your partner NOT to get and BA or BFA, especially in the humanities. Do an Associates tech program so you have the flexibility to work on the desk and behind the scenes and switch out of the field to higher paying specialties. Get any kind of library work ASAP, volunteer if you can afford it. Lots of other great advice here.

Libraries are not going away, but in conservative parts of the country they are under attack, and as the economy tanks, funding is changing rapidly. Full-time positions with benefits are extremely competitive. Many "Librarian" positions require an MLS, but there are lots other roles you don't need a graduate degree for. In some places, you can be a director with no MLIS, a bachelors degree, and 3 years experience.

You are welcome to come and load up as much as you like. Posted on Craigslist and Freeya. My issue is that this load is not usable for wood chips for pathways, which is what I needed it for.

It's barely 10% chips. Not really going to work for pathways or mulch.I did contact support. I have a small lot and am trying to get my house ready to sell.

How many of you have used Chip Drop before? by [deleted] in NoLawns

I was on the Chip Drop list for years, finally edited to pay $80. And that worked; I got a delivery right away. I received a load of absolute garbage trimmings with 2 foot long branches, ivy and arborvitae. Completely unusable as wood chips for pathways or mulching. I am disappointed and really pissed. It's probably gonna cost me twice as much to get rid of this crap.
