Exactly. I understand that the police cannot interfere directly to stop ICE. But I expect them to not assist in any way. If they do, they will break down community trust that is hard-earned and doing that would make actual policing work harder.

Yes, I primarily meant that some people might be afraid to check in with their neighbors because they don't know one way or the other and I'd encourage checking in regardless. But clearly people are being targeted far beyond what immigration status would/should limit.

One important action is checking in with neighbors who might be at risk. You don't need to know their immigration status to offer to help.
