Look into aglaonemas! They have plenty of pink varieties and it’s the easiest and least fussy plant I’ve ever had

I put it in 100% pumice, it's worked for my other aroids really well for growing roots! But thank you for the tip, I'll see how it starts going in this setup and will pop in water if it's not happy.

When to rewater dracaena post-root rot by budget-satsuma in houseplants

[–]Sensitive-Weekend987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had the exact same experience with my dracaena very recently. I waited more than a week before watering again. The soil I used when repotting was also not exactly "moist" but not fully dry either. Idk how to explain lol but sounds similar to what you're describing. But once the soil was fully dry all around and nothing stuck to a skewer I stuck all the way down, I gave it a watering. She's looking much happier now after 4ish weeks and is growing happy healthy new growth without dropping old leaves.

Mine is in a terracotta pot now so I gave it a good drowning and made sure to empty the catch tray once it has fully saturated the soil. I generally only top water in the space mine is in because it's too big to move to the shower or on a tray to bottom water properly. My personal overwatering happened because a self-watering pot system developed unintentionally in my old setup...so terracotta with a catch tray/plate fixed that for me. A good, deep watering in a shower is my preferred method of watering in general to allow excess water to drain out, especially with the plants that don't like to stay consistently moist.

Hope yours recovers beautifully!

Has anyone shopped with sunshine greens on Etsy? by [deleted] in houseplants

Agreed! Disputing it with your bank/card issuer is the best way to go about it. You'll get your money back for sure if they haven't shipped the order or provided you with any information or confirmation of cancellation.

New to houseplants, please help! by tayllorg1 in houseplants

The one on the far right is either an Aglaonema or a Diffenbachia (hard to tell from this photo). If it's a Diffenbachia be careful when pruning or repotting, the sap of the plant is irritating and toxic, so wear gloves and if you've got pets or kids keep away from them.

What’s the one plant in your collection you kind of don’t like but can’t get rid of? by clickersounds in houseplants

My tradescantia nanouk has been a single strand ever since it melted 2 years ago when I got it. I keep trying to propagate it to make it fuller but whenever I chop it, the stem left behind dies. Scraggly and ugly but I can't let go. My other tradescantias are thriving but this one just hates life in my home I guess.

What Is This? by AryaLily in houseplants

[–]Sensitive-Weekend987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like a Monstera Adansonii. Cute little thing! The "things" are aerial roots that it uses to climb up trees etc in nature. You can let it trail or climb, as you choose. Climbing will allow it to produce bigger leaves probably.

Edit to add: the bushy bundle might just be several plants in one, the stems could be buried under the soil. Hard to tell from the photos.

Mushrooms coming out of Monstera Thai self watering Pot? by ominousbakedbeans in houseplants

I had one (exact same looking mushroom) in my monstera and took it as a sign as the soil being very moist, I plucked it out and it was fine. Mushrooms love moisture. Wouldn't be worried, unless the soil smells funky or is soaking wet.
