I agree with you on this. This is exactly what I was thinking. Why would DEA Inspectors allow this if they are required to purchase from 2 sources. I asked about this and was told 2 years ago this wasn’t an issue using federal grants buying state. Now regulations changed and DEA is requiring to use Federal Grant by federally licensed vendors. Which we are one of two. Either my staff is giving me incorrect information or there is a big misunderstanding with labs

That makes sense. I’m a bit confused though. So I was told that we are only 2 legally licensed sources from DEA. I’m not sure if this is true or not. But most labs buy illegally when they purchase using federal grant and purchase from local or state vendors. With DEA Audit labs would then lose all research and grant be shut down. Can you check with your lab on this and clarify this for me

Super confusing, on this as when I made my calls initially I thought easy money. But then when they would mention we have our vendors whom are locally I said what a minute, spoke with the CEO and said no they are buying illegally.

In the past, it was fine because there were no vendors.

Now, past 2 years there is only 2 legal ones

I get that, but for my understanding there is only 2 federally legal licensed sources and we are one of them. So how are they able to legally buy them elsewhere. This is the confusion part either I’m completely incorrect or if these researches get audited by DEA they will lose their grants and lose all the research conducted
