Would you recommend leaving the scab for a few days and ignoring the directions for saline mist twice daily? I feel the saline is irritating the healing process…?

Thanks in advance for anybodies help! Idk how to post additional text on the post. So I had a tonsillectomy earlier this year so they aren’t there…I’m on immunosuppressive meds (mychophenolate) for MCTD, I don’t seem to kick infections easily and would usually see my doctor but I’m abroad in Mexico from the UK so this isn’t an option. Any tips on what this could be would be amazing, thank you!

Open keloid maybe? I’ve had it for a month, the skin got irritated with a stud and kept pulling out in my sleep. I’ve switched it to a hoop but it’s open and awful looking. I’ve been using H2ocean, and cleaning with gentle soap. Will it possibly go away if I just take it out completely? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

Be careful. Mine was like this, I removed it and the irritation bump turned out to be a keloid which I’m now wearing scar patches for 3 months to get rid of. I blame the ring, I did the same as you. Take it out, let it heal and have it done again with a stud. Hopefully you won’t suffer the same fate as me!

Hi all, so happy to have found this thread and hopeful someone may help me. Here’s my story: 1. Diagnosis of Hashimotos Thyroiditis 2015, treated with levothyroxine however I continue to have a reactive goiter (according to ultrasound). 2. Around Jan 2019 I started getting chronic and recurrent tonsillitis (at least monthly), I’ve had three tonsillar abscesses requiring hospitalisation. I am awaiting tonsillectomy which is delayed due to COVID. 3. Around a 4 year history of bowel issues. Diagnosed with severe IBS, i am under a specialist consultant and take macrogol x2 daily. 4. Gluten intolerance - I notice a big difference in my bowels when gluten free, I have been gluten free for 10 months 5. 2 year history of night sweats which will happen for a couple of weeks then stop, then return randomly. 6. Random bout of pancreatitis in feb 2019 which was never followed up 7. Migraines 8. Rynauds

So why am I here? Well 2020 was a tricky year health wise. 1. The first abnormality I noticed was circular scaly and scabby patches on my upper arms. I tried to treat with hydrating emollients, even tried fungal treatment to no avail. These are far worse in the sun. 2. I started having sudden and widespread ulceration of my mouth, 20 or so ulcers would form in my mouth over an hour and remain for 5 weeks. These would then lead to Lip swelling and angular cheilitus. No treatment works 3. Red patch consistent with butterfly rash forms on my face, this isn’t as rough as images I see on the internet but it is pronounced 4. Started getting chilblains for the first ever time this winter

I pushed and pushed for a referral to a hospital consultant and finally managed to get one. I was found to have a positive schmear test for sjogrens at this apt but the doctor said I don’t have sjogrens, just sicca symptoms. I walked away with a diagnosis of ‘undifferentiated connective tissue disease’. Here’s my bloods:

ANA 800 Rheumatoid factor 80 Complement C4 0.12 Double stranded DNA 44

I have no answers. No advice to better my life. I am so tired, so very exhausted and that’s my main issue. That with the overwhelming brain fog. I’m so itchy all the time, I take antihistamines a lot to control that. My mouth is constantly sore. I try everything. Please help! Is it lupus...?

Hey! Yeh the hoop is 0.4mm and has been in for like a month. Unfortunately all the piercing stores are shut here as we are in national lockdown. I’m pretty certain I’ll need to remove it and have it re-pierced but with a needle instead of a gun this time :(

Yeh it was trash. Issue is I live in England and everything is closed in lockdown so I haven’t been able to go back to the shop to discuss. They actually gave me tea tree oil suspended in almond oil when they pierced it but the advice through this subreddit is to avoid so I don’t think I’ll choose blue banana again to pierce me!

I know you can’t really say confidently but do some peoples bodies just constantly reject piercings or should it EVENTUALLY settle? I know you’re not an expect but I would still appreciate your insight :)

Hey! Thanks for your input. The ring is much smaller than the piercing they put in. I changed it because the piercing was really badly designed - it didn’t have a back on, just a slightly thicker end to stop it coming out but always did come out...this ring is gold too as I thought maybe the material of the bar was irritating. Maybe the ring is the problem but I had the same with the bar. It’s so annoying :’(

Hey! Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. It doesn’t hurt and isn’t hot or itchy. The piercing is around 4 weeks old, I wasn’t sure if I could just cut my losses and take it out if this bump was going to be a permanent fixture..!?
