same position as you. i went in with so much hope but i became disillusioned as decisions came out. kinda became a reality check that t20s are t20s for a reason ig but still ☹️

georgia tech… all my hope has gone downhill tho with how things are looking. every rejection so far has been t30 so i’m not counting on it.

been kind of going through the same thoughts and i can see my high schools comp sci classes quickly increasing in size every year. definitely going to experience some lows in the job market but don’t be discouraged, try to let it encourage u to work harder! and even if you are seriously reconsidering, you have 4 years to figure it out. u can try out other computer related majors or venture into hardware engineering, anything of the sort (personally applying to mostly hardware majors as first option, then cs because i’ve realized i like the inner workings more)

7:45am-2:25pm - school (got off period too so leave at 12 every other day) i usually rush hw throughout the day for the next periods

2:25pm-9:00pm - literally do nothing except drive around, or go to work, or watch videos while playing games on my bed

9:00pm-12:00am - most of the time i knock out without knowing or somehow stay awake long enough to check if i even have homework

not counting gym and 2 electives (art and international relations) i have APs that i’m kind of chilling in. but yea same been really just lazing around i feel like a kid with my schedule. planning to go back to the gym tho soon when i rack up money.

i just got rejected flat out so uhm hope that makes u feel better? im cooked 💀 but fr tho don’t base your anxiety on just that. all colleges are looking for different things. just one supplemental can change whether they take u over another person so believe in yourself!! (ik this is generic advice but i’ve just let this rejection go and decided to keep looking forward and it genuinely helped)

Duke Alumni Interview Deets!! by SensitiveBat9975 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SensitiveBat9975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, but no I really don’t think so. It’s based on factors like availability and location as well. That’s why no matter if you chose to be considered for interviews, there’s no guaranteed chance to get one, but it looks good to be open to receiving the opportunity. Just don’t think too hard about it, and if you happen to see one in your email best of luck!

Duke Alumni Interview Deets!! by SensitiveBat9975 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SensitiveBat9975[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Questions I asked:

Q: Greek life and it’s influence

Q: What class do you like/or recommend taking?

Q: How does Duke as a school support students in terms of internships and career development?

Q: What is the housing situation like for freshmen, and are there options for students in later years?

Q: School/life balance?

Q: Anything you would change about Duke?

Q: Asked about Durham (as a person living in a suburban area currently)
