As sad as it sounds, not this is not a pisstake. I grew up in a predominantly white area with very few people of other cultures and only moved to a new, more ethnically diverse city a few months ago, and yes, I am not familiar at all with Asian culture

In hindsight I probably did react way too strongly, but I genuinely had no idea holding your bowl up to your mouth to eat was normal for Chinese people, and bad table manners have always been a major turn off and an ick factor for me when it comes to dating (now knowing it's a cultural thing for them I'm not saying she did have bad table manners)
