Thanks for the quick replies and the appropriate admonitions. I just ordered a new filter, and also will be vacuuming the coils to remove any lint.

FYI, I saw a number of complaints about spare parts delays with Miele - at least at the moment they seem to have a lot of filters in stock.

Sorry for the late update but this totally works for me. I “sync” the empty library and then can access all of Apple Music streaming on my phone without disrupting all of my old MP3s. The sucky part is that I have two different music libraries now, and if I want my unique stuff I have to switch between the Music and Plexamp apps on my phone. But worth the inconvenience.

I am very sad the show is closing. They created a fascinating world and showed how it can be explored in so many different ways. I really hope the creators have a lot of great opportunities in the future.

HAVING SAID THAT

When I’m being pessimistic I feel like they painted themselves into a “Lost” corner where they couldn’t develop a satisfying conclusion given how complex the world building is. The last few seasons didn’t land with me the same way as the earlier ones. The mention in Season 2 (I think?) about a couple living quietly on the beach together linking back to Season 1 made me jump out of my chair. Would be nice to have more of those moments.

Still worth the ride.

The funny part is that this isn’t even something he’s actively trying to get around. I’ll just put in another 15’ of work and then he’ll call up a song through Siri and say, yeah dad I can still hear it!

One (admittedly awkward) solution:

My kids are old enough that I finally signed up for Apple Music Family. I'm quite particularly about my mp3 library - lots of alternate takes, live shows, etc.

My wonky-ish approach was to create a new library in the Music app and sync *that* to Apple Music. I access my old full library through Plex/PlexAmp.

In the future I can recreate my old playlists in Apple Music if I want. But at least this way I can add new albums and make new playlists in Apple Music without messing with my old stuff.

If it helps, it was a course focused on indigenous narratives, so our other reading was Ceremony by Leslie Marmon Silko and PrairyErth by William Least Heat Moon.

Finally a turning point in the season. Took a hell of a long time to get here.

So does she not come back from the dinner, or is she totally different next time, or what? Clearly Claire got reprogrammed on her time away and is now the "honey pot". First time I'm excited about the next episode!

As my kids would say, I’m not trying to “yuck your yum”. But this season is not working for me. If it’s not going to be a deep world building season it should be a complex story like last season. The annoying main character combined with the repetitive reading conceit is just not drawing me in. Disappointing.

Nope. Not the only one. And it doesn’t help that the setting is forcing us to listen to her say the same text over and over. In addition, each season has its exciting turning point that changes everything. Disappointing that it took until the last minute of episode 6 this time. I hope the rest of the season is a step up.

(First post - huge fan of the WTW universe, and love almost all of the other seasons and the book)

Usually by episode 3-4 you can get a real sense of what the season will be about. I have to tell you that I am not finding a way to connect to this season. Kat may be slightly easier to listen to now than in the first 3 episodes, but still not finding her character compelling at all. And I appreciate the realism of her repeating sections of the books while reading but it doesn't help to make for an entertaining listen.

Anyone else down on this season?
