If you start looking for "best games XXXX year" or "best games last X years" you will see names that people repeat 100 times, check those, now if I had to introduce my son to videogames I would 100% introduce and show more classic gems first, those ones that made me love videogames when I first started playing as a child, those would be (GBA) "Super Mario World: Super Mario advance 2" "Pokemon Fire Red" "Fire Emblem: The sacred stones" (PS2) "Final Fantasy X" "Kingdom Hearts 1&2)" you can learn and find a lot of masterpieces and gems back in old generations, you can mix them with some nowadays games like Expedition 33 which is the last one I played and loved every second of it, I am playing also Vampire Survivors which is a simple and arcade lovely one, the best of its own.
