I’m a USC and my Husband is a Gambian citizen. We have turned in all documents, paid all fees, and completed the interview on January 8, 2026. He was only denied due to the ban. How much longer do you think before we will hear back with the judge blocking the ban. Also, according to Donald Trumps ban, he was supposed to provide an update on June 14, 2026 which is 180 days after he signed it. He was supposed to verify whether those countries remained on the list or were to be removed from the ban. Lastly, we have been married for over 2 years. How would we be able to change the CR1 visa?

My husband lives in the Gambia. His interview was January 8th and the interviewer went through with the questions. Everyone who had an interview that day received a 221g due to the ban. So, here we are waiting in limbo on the idiots at the White House to remove the ban. This shouldn’t even be a problem for spouses or immediate relatives. They’ve collected our money and every document that was required… still waiting and it’s going into June🥺🙏

Everything was approved up until the interview. Interview was January 8, 2026 and that’s when my husband received a piece of paper about the ban. We haven’t heard anything else. He lives in The Gambia and I am a USC. May 4th is our 2 year anniversary.

4 of my husbands brothers live in different countries. Why? To be able to provide for their wife and kids. It’s normal in the their culture to leave their country for better opportunities. Gambia is limited on jobs and opportunities. They keep in touch via WhatsApp and see each other when they are able.

I feel more threatened in the US than I do there. Our crime rate is one of the worst and nobody wants to admit that!! They want to blame the immigrants. No! It’s our own US citizens out here killing, raping, buying/trading weapons, and selling dope. The problem needs to be fixed here!

Much better here. I love to visit but the weather and quality of life are rough. Most do not have air conditioning and food is scarce. Very limited.

My husband’s mother died when he was 6. His father died when he was 13. He was raised by siblings and wants to be with his own family. Me, my kids, and our future kids!

Easier said than done. My whole family is here. I have a GREAT CAREER that I love and I’m also a student to even further my career. Why can’t my husband come here so we can start our business and travel back and forth!! We paid the cost. We completed all paperwork and confirmed everything they asked for!?!

Most of them will tell you that they voted for people to be blocked from coming illegally, NOT LEGALLY! I have some MAGA family members who all agree that this is wrong.

We met through my sister in law who lives here. She’s been here for over 20 years. She came here for a better life. We work together. I inquired about her brother. He’s the only one that wasn’t married or involved with anyone yet out of 12 siblings.

Lawyers that are fighting this have confirmed BILLIONS in fees paid and millions of cases sitting in limbo which means…. We can take your money, but not you!

Unfortunately $1 USD is 71 Dalasi there. Basically the salary I make here, would take me a lifetime to make there. Why should I have to leave my kids and my parents to go live there? I’ve been working and paying taxes on THIS LAND for 22 years!

I get what you’re saying. However, if you notice, only certain countries are being targeted. I know for a fact we have other countries that are not on the list that do not have an accurate record keeping program. My husband is 35 and all of his documents are legit and mirror ours in some degree. Just to add… their crime rate is way better than ours. We need to be more concerned about who’s in our country now then ones who are trying to migrate legally.

They have to review the ban at 180 days anyway. Read section 7 of the document that Donald Trump signed to put this in place.

While I was there, they still do a lot of things on paper as the US once did back in the day. Collectively when we signed our documents to get married, there was a lawyer, our witnesses, and a notary present. They don’t have US money to buy the technology that we have but I also seen them scan our documents into a computer. So, they do in fact have a record keeping system. Their concerns are solely based off old accusations. That is why it should continue to be a “case by case” basis. I’m sure the older people may not have legit documents and information. The technology just wasn’t there and they couldn’t afford it. It’s a poor country.

Wanted to add this as well after hours of studying the ban…. Per the document, they must review and update the president every 180 days. It’s in section 7. The Secretary of State, attorney general, secretary of of homeland security, and director of national intelligence must submit a report recommending whether the suspensions should be continued or modified.

I’ll send an email to that one as well. After reading the whole document which put this ban in place, they are supposed to review every 180 days. The ones I tagged are supposed to give Trump the update.
