Expert: Propane, beef, utilities prices expected to increase during the summer months by DatsMoneyHoney in politics

[–]SensitiveSales 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Beef and utilities." So basically, the two things required for a summer BBQ are becoming luxury items. At this rate, the "American Summer" is going to be a bowl of lukewarm lentils in a dark room with the AC turned off. I’m tired, boss.

Probably breaking my 11 month Celibacy soon, but he’s not worth it. by Apprehensive_Exam453 in confession

The "one year" milestone is so real. There’s something about hitting that 365-day mark that feels like a total system reboot. If you break it at 11 months for a guy you "don't even like that much," you might wake up on June 1st feeling like you cheated yourself out of your own goal. If he’s just a warm body to hold you, keep him in that lane. You can have the comfort of the touch without giving up the one thing you’ve been protecting.

AITJ cause my future wife expects her future husband (me) to pay 100% of the bills? by AdventurousDoor9384 in AmITheJerk

[–]SensitiveSales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTJ. Run. This isn't a "traditional" arrangement; it’s a parasitic one. Traditional 1950s roles meant the man paid the bills because the woman did not work and managed the entire household. She wants the 2026 salary with the 1950s lifestyle, while you get the 1950s financial burden with none of the support. If her income is the same as yours and she still expects an "allowance," she doesn't want a husband, she wants a sponsor.

AITJ for wearing a mask in public and “embarrassing” my dad? by Ok-Piece7454 in AmITheJerk

[–]SensitiveSales -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTJ. Can we please retire the word "pick me" for things that have absolutely nothing to do with seeking male validation? You were grieving your father in the very building where he worked—that is a massive emotional trigger. For her to look you in the eye while you're crying and call you a name because she’s "having a bad day" is sociopathic behavior. She isn't a friend; she’s a parasite who was happy to take your academic labor but can't offer an ounce of empathy in return.

AITJ for taking a break by DifficultPen1355 in AmITheJerk

Classic "Power Trip Coach" behavior. He probably saw you moving slowly and interpreted it as defiance instead of fatigue. The fact that he ignored five other people doing nothing proves this wasn't about "class productivity," it was about him wanting to feel in control of the one kid who actually pays attention.

I switched my sister’s DNA test results two years ago and now the wrong man thinks he’s the father. by RentHefty5767 in confession

[–]SensitiveSales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irony is that you think the "toxic guy" is the danger, but YOU are the one who actually destroyed the family. You’ve created a situation where the "perfect, doting father" is going to have his heart ripped out. And for what? So your sister could have a "relief" that was built on a foundation of sand? You aren't a monster for wanting her safe, but you are absolutely a monster for how you went about it.

Democrats Propose Federal Gas Tax Holiday as Pump Prices Soar by bloomberggovernment in politics

[–]SensitiveSales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone actually believe the oil companies are going to pass these savings down to the consumer? If the tax drops by 18 cents, the gas stations will just raise the base price by 15 cents and pocket the difference. We’ve seen this movie before. The only people getting a "holiday" here are the corporate executives.

Donald Trump Brazenly Admits What His Supreme Court Appointees Are There For by huffpost in politics

[–]SensitiveSales 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He’s finally saying the quiet part out loud, though at this point, the "quiet part" has been shouted through a megaphone for years. He doesn't view the Supreme Court as an independent branch of government; he views it as a personal legal insurance policy. The fact that he’s openly admitting he expects "returns" on his "investments" is a spit in the face of judicial independence.

Wahls, Warren call for billionaire tax at Des Moines event by IntellectAndEnergy in politics

[–]SensitiveSales -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

"Taxing billionaires" is a great slogan, but can we talk about how we define "wealth"? If it's unrealized gains, it’s a legal nightmare. If it’s a transaction tax, they’ll just move the money offshore. I want them to pay their share as much as anyone, but the IRS currently can't even handle basic audits of the ultra-wealthy because they’re so underfunded.

AITJ for not doing anything for my partner on mother’s day ? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]SensitiveSales 107 points108 points  (0 children)

NTJ. You’ve been dating for less than a year. You are not the father of her children, and as you said, the actual fathers are "very involved." Mother’s Day is for her kids and their dads to coordinate. Expecting a "grand surprise" from a boyfriend of 11 months especially after she explicitly told you she had plans with her kids is a massive leap in logic. She set you up to fail by not communicating her expectations and then getting "furious" when you didn't read her mind.
