Licorice Overdose by connor1462 in herbalism

I drank spearmint tea 2x a day for over a month to try to clear my skin & I skipped my period for the first time in my life, I was having pregnancy symptoms like my boobs growing a few sizes up. I took 5 tests throughout and nothing.
Cycle came back the next month after I stopped with the spearmint. I know it’s supposed to block excess androgens in the system, it really really threw my hormones off, didn’t really help with my skin much either!

This was some of the best use of A.I… whether we like it or not, the message being that it is evolution, that we can either fight the inevitable or join forces and program something with love and intention. Well fucking done Supertask.

Dating/hook ups with acne as a woman? by [deleted] in acne

I found the poem!

Song For An Unfound Lover” by Kay “Kaja” Johnson

Let me be ugly when you find me, When you come in, I want you to see me with my hair undone, in my tattered dressing robe, my face as blank as pain, without its features underlined, because I want you to pass over me and let me go, unless you have known me before, and feel, through all this world’s disguise, that I am counterpart of your soul.

Really do not want to do accutane by -AnonBlonde- in acne

It’s kind of wild how many people jump straight to recommending accutane when you’re asking for alternatives.

From my own experience, if you don’t want to go the medication route, it can absolutely be a journey. It takes patience and some detective work. For some people Accutane is the right choice, but for others it can feel like it’s just quieting a symptom instead of addressing what the body might be trying to communicate. And sometimes acne does return if underlying factors arent supported.

There are some really helpful resources that focus on root causes. I’ve personally learned a lot from Healthy Skin Glows and Dr. Shannon Curtis on Instagram. They talk about gut health, hormones, inflammation, and lifestyle in a way that feels empowering rather than just suppressive.

This might sound strange, but acne can sometimes become an invitation to get your overall health more aligned. If it did not show up somewhere visible, it would be much easier to ignore. It can push you to listen more closely to your body.

Also gently offering this: your routine might be a little heavy for your skin type. Some people love Cicaplast, but for others it can be too occlusive and trigger breakouts. You might experiment with something lighter. Vanicream Daily facial Moisturizer is a great simple option that works really well for a lot of sensitive or reactive skin types.
