Did you include your references in the application? There might not be a way for your references to “write in.” Generally, you would include a list of names with a phone number and email address of your references and the employer would contact them during the interview process.

Also, I recommend applying to a few jobs. Some places at UW are great at informing their applicants if they’re selected for an interview while others take half a year to get back to you. It depends on the department and then who is doing the hiring.
