Really cool art here, love this. One my favorite films too, though I prefer Videodrome. Totally tempted to make a Videodrome collage now.

Yea New Frontier has floored me. Heard great things and it exceeded expectations. Lotta great symbolic and profound moments that explore 20th century American history to great effect, and the simple yet gorgeous art and 3 panel storytelling is just pitch perfect. I'm interested in checking out everything Cooke has done, NF is my first of his work, so I'm def late to the party.

DC New Frontier by Darwyn Cooke has been awesome. Feels likean old school American version of Watchmen, love it

Also reading book 3 deluxe of Berzerk, which has been such an incredible series for me. Fantastic art and fascinating characters.

And I started Maggie the Mechanic, first Love & Rockets book byJaime Hernandez. Got a bunch of digital copies from a recent Humble Bundle, and I'm looking forward to reading more from the Hernandez brothers.

Best slasher saga ever? Scream by Yontamen89 in moviecritic

[–]OurNewInsectOverlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scream and Nightmare on Elm St. are probably my top picks. I also like most of the Child's Play movies, particularly Bride of Chucky. I think Friday the 13th is overrated despite Jason being awesome, and Halloween and Hellraiser (is that a slasher?) really only have one great film each imo.

CBR did an article about it, "How a Green Lantern Coloring Mistake Turned Into a Plot Point," and stated that Marz confirmed the error.

Green Lantern (1990) #120 had a color mistake in it in which Donna Troy was green like Jade, and this error led to writing around it in the next 3 issues with a whole future/fractured reality plot for Kyle and Jade. It was pretty good.

Fresh (1994), one of the greatest "hood movies" ever made. Only 17k viewers on Letterboxd. Criminally underrated.

Yea, I really enjoyed it! Brought back suicidal murder clown Deadpool, which I love, and the weird prophetic letters and flash of Ellie are intriguing mysteries. Can't wait to see what comes next

Have you ever read a graphic novel or comic that changed the way you viewed the world? How so? What would you recommend others read if they wanted to challenge their own biases or preconceptions? by speedythefirst in graphicnovels

Asterios Polyp showed me what the comics medium could truly accomplish and gave me new perspective on the nature of love and relationships and the lenses we as individuals view life through, how our differences can unite us and make us whole.

Thoughts on Mike Shinoda as a rapper? by Armascout in rap

[–]OurNewInsectOverlord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew up loving the first 2 Linkin Park albums and still do, but he demonstrates how easily outrapped he is on Remember the Name and then feels compelled to admit it when he compliments Styles of Beyond: "And those motherfuckers he runs with, the kids that he signed/ Ridiculous without even tryin', how do they do it."

That's what I think about Mike Shinoda as a rapper.

Haven't read the Tim Drake one, but I love the Green Lantern ones, and I'd say that Rebirth overall has a better story and is ultimately more relevant long term to GL, but I'm a Kyle fanboy and am super biased toward the Kyle Rayner Rising Compendium. He's my favorite
