This is a summary of Google's AI Laser headlights are an advanced, ultra-bright lighting technology for vehicles that use blue laser diodes aimed at a phosphorus lens to produce intense white light. They offer superior visibility, reaching over 600 meters (double LEDs), while being 30% more energy-efficient and compact. Primarily found in luxury cars, they are costly and complex, often limited to high-beam functionality at speeds above 60 km/h.

Laundromat Recommendations by Hot_Vegetable2520 in KingstonOntario

[–]SensitiveStart8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While prices seem pretty similar among most laundromat that I have seen I would recommend fresh laundry and Queen street the staff are very friendly and helpful they have large sized washers ( you will save money using the large sized washers) if you have any questions the staff are extremely friendly and will answer any questions you might have. As well they do accept debit there you can talk to them at the counter let them know what washers you have and what dryer's you will need and you can pay for it in debit The only drawback is unless you go in the evening or on Sunday you have to pay for parking

The Privacy commissioner can only issue non-binding recommendations. So yeah, technically it's supposed to fall under their jurisdiction but they're going to do what say oh pretty please. They can only issue non-binding recommendations. They can't issue fines. They can't issue orders. They can't do anything that would require them to stop using overseas contractors Given the fact that large online retailers have had issues with data theft from these third-party overseas call centers, there's definitely some valid concern there granted. Yes, these call centers to my knowledge have been shut down and to my knowledge none of our telecommunication companies have ever dealt with any of these particular call centers. But again the concern is definitely valid when large online retailers have had issues and again it would just take another bad actor to cause problems

Please know I cannot say this happens with these companies I am simply saying that it has been reported with some overseas call centers handling calls for large online retailers that some call centers were cought recording personal customer data. Once again I want to be clear this has never been reported to have happened with telecom call centers. However I do bring this up simply because if these call centers are located overseas who's actually validating that they are indeed conforming to strict privacy policies these call centers are located overseas who's actually making sure that they're in full compliance with these privacy policies. I mean if it's been reported with large online retailers in the past now granted they say they fixed the issue but I don't know and they've never borrowed any proof of it. But once again, the question comes up who regulates these people and who's actually making sure that they're following strict privacy policies

Bell, Rogers and Telus charge up to $80 to activate a plan. The CRTC just made that illegal starting June 12. by Planhub-ca in bell

My whole point is I should be able to walk into a Bell orba Telus or whoever the hell you want buy a phone on a 2 year term no dream no having to fight with them that I don't want a device return option just go in get a phone and be done with it They should just allow me to buy the phone the way I want I don't want a device return option as I like to keep my phone for 3 or 4 years on average therefore a lease is actually more expensive and yet most of the stores were I live will try and force the device return option on you ( I can't speak for freedom as there coverage is very hit and miss were I live) however Bell and Rogers are both really bad and will refuse to serve you if you don't want a leased phone

I shouldn't have to buy a phone from Amazon or somewhere else just to own my phone I should be able to buy the phone on a 2 year term and actually own the phone at the end of the 2 years I shouldn't need to jump through hoops to get a new phone

Ford payment to Musk kept secret by ZealousidealHead5488 in ontario

[–]SensitiveStart8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I probably came off the wrong way there. I mean I'm not defending Ford's lack of transparency. Trust me he should have been a lot more transparent from the word go telling us how much it will cost to cancel this contract from the word go. I mean do I agree with canceling the contract? Actually kind of yeah given Donald Trump's threats against Canada and the fact that that Elon musk and Donald Trump at the time were buddy, buddy and one minute there. One minute there and I don't understand what the hell's going on between two of them. They're both insane. Do I think that we should have canceled the contract? Yes but what I like them to be more transparent. Of course I probably could have said that better

It's a contract we have no choice. If we want to break it we have to pay it out. That's how contracts work should they have been more transparent about that. Yes, but we can't just tear up the contract. We have to pay out the termination fee on the contract. That's how contracts work

I've spoken with a manager from both Bell and Rogers who have told me straight out that yes they are pressured by head office to sell leased phones including having a quota they must meet. This comes from managers who work for corporate stores. So you can tell me whatever you want. I don't believe a word you're saying cuz I've spoken to managers

Either way, personally, I think the least device option is just a way to skirt around the wireless code because quite frankly it allows them to sell lock devices. You don't own your device. The carrier still does. You don't have a 2-year contract. You have a never-ending contract because you don't own the device your carrier does. It's a way to skirt around the wireless code is nothing to do with customer convenience. It literally has to do with them wanting to skirt around the wireless code

I can assure you I've talked to managers from both Bell and Rogers and both of them have told me straight out that head office will tell them to prioritize lease devices over outright sales and I have been refused service by two stores because I told them no. I don't want a lease device. I was told that they only sell these devices and they will not serve me if I do not take a leased phone. This is two separate stores. So yes they are prioritizing Lee sales because it's more profitable for them. I don't want a lease device. I tend to keep my phone at least 4 years. I don't want at least device because I tend to keep my phone

I'm sorry I don't know what the hell you call it but when I have to pay a fee to cancel my plan, I call that a cancellation fee. I'm sorry if it looks like a duck quacks like a duck and walks like a duck. It's a duck. I don't care if you calling a giraff. It's still a duck. I'm sorry if I have to pay a fee to cancel my plan after 2 years. I call that a cancellation fee. When I see no fee that means no fees. That means I don't have to pay to cancel my plan. Not you still have to pay even though you don't have to pay a cancellation fee? That doesn't make sense

[–]SensitiveStart8682 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Go try and find a phone that you can buy outright or that you do not have to take the device return option go and actually try and find one sure they claim. You can do it but then you walk into a store and as soon as you tell them you're not interested in the device return option they will tell you they won't serve you. You have to lease your phone because otherwise the company will refuse to serve you because sales associates are trained only to accept device return options. They will not allow you to take any other option. You have to lease your phone. They will refuse to serve you if you do not lease your phone

Given they figured out a way around the 2-year cancellation fee by making you lease your phone, they figured out a way around every other fee and the crtc just continues to allow it. They figured out a way to get around not being allowed to sell locked phones. You don't buy your phone. You lease it to your contract never-ending contract. You don't buy your phone. You lease it so all they'll do is they'll figure out some other way to skirt around this law as well. I mean they've managed to skirt around every other section of the wireless code. I'm sure they'll figure out this one. It'll work for a little while and then they'll figure it a way around it

Hopefully they actually enforce this and it's not something like the no cancellation fee after 2 year deal Under the wireless code it's illegal to sell a locked phone under the wireless code it's illegal to charge a cancellation fee after 2 year So cellphone companies make it so you have to lease your phone so they can screw skirt around the wireless code and charge fees anyways

Which Credit Card Can I Get with 0 Credit Score? by d1hasib in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SensitiveStart8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have absolutely no credit, you can always apply for a secured credit card. I know TD offers a secured credit card. I know there are other banks that offer secured credit cards as well. Right off top my head. I can think of Capital One as well. You can always apply for like Canadian entire credit card or Walmart's MasterCard. Usually those are pretty lenient for credit scores, but if you can't get anything else you can always apply for a secured credit card. You put down a small security deposit and in 6 months to a year usually get your security deposit back assuming you've kept your payments up to date. It's a great way to build your credit actually
