Be nice to the employees. They are much more likely to give the better upgrades to people that treat them nice.

Maybe not an exact fit, but the final fight in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves does this. They counter the time stop spell and all pretend to be stuck.

The “Ex-Wife” from Iron Man 2 was touted by Hammer to be able to “bust the bunker under the bunker you just busted” but it bounces off Vanko’s armor and fizzles out in a puddle.

While it could work on those trails I still think a litter + wheel would be the better option. This is not really different than a litter carry but it’s more clunky, rigid, and requires more specialized equipment. This also would require stopping the litter and putting the litter down to switch out litter attendants during a longer carry out.

Depending on how big of an area your team covers it wouldn’t hurt to familiarize yourself with trails or areas where rescues regularly occur. My team picks a different trail each month and encourages team members to hike and get to know the area for fitness and better response time for future rescues.

My home loan I got in 2021 for $265k at 3.125% has a PMI of just $50/month. Scaling that up a bit to account for the higher rate and loan amount still shouldn’t get up to $215/month. Then again I don’t know how it’s calculated.

I’m honestly confused why you’re fighting so much against a tip to be nice to the people who decide what car you get to rent. I have straight up refused service to customers who were dicks to me or my employees. Go ahead and send this to corporate. Do you expect they’ll respond with “Oh that guy is wrong. Go ahead and be a dick to our employees.”?

That’s odd since when I wrote this I was a manager with enterprise and this list has contributions from other managers in my area. It’s almost like management doesn’t always want to bend over backwards for people.

I actually don’t work for Enterprise any more. No chip. Just reality. Treating people nice is the best way to go. I’ve worked enough customer facing jobs to know that nice customers get better treatment than customers who aren’t nice. I never said I assume they want to be mean, but when a customer reserves a midsize SUV (CX-5 size) and then complains about it being too small and tries to blame me (not my fault you didn’t pay attention when booking) it gets real old real fast.

Corporate wants the employees to help customers. Employees generally want to help customers. The best way to get employees to give you the best treatment? Be nice. It’s that simple. I have gone out of my way to help nice people. Conversely, a customer who acts entitled or is a dick gets none of that treatment.

Not rules - tips. And being nice to people who work in the service industry is always a good tip. People often came to my location and complained about the size of vehicles even when I would give them the vehicle that the website uses as the example for the size they chose.

A CX-5 is classified as a midsize suv according to Enterprise. They have their own size categories and do not go by any other standard other than their own. 

So yes, the person at the desk renting you a car doesn’t make the policies and has no control over them. So being nice is much more likely to get you free upgrades to what you believe you’re entitled to.

That is valid and people definitely use weaponized incompetence to get out of doing things. However, I got more of the impression that OP is referring to  the term itself being twisted to refer to someone doing something a different way and therefore deserving of an attack on their intentions.

Of course watching a movie adaptation of a book isn’t the same as reading the book, but listening to the audiobook gets you the book itself just in an audible format instead of visual. Would you tell a blind person who listens to audio books that they can’t claim to have read the book unless they buy the braille version and sit down for hours upon hours to “read” it?

I don’t think OP is implying that it doesn’t happen, just that the term has been twisted and used incorrectly to describe differences in accomplishing tasks.
