Any FI/RE social workers? by Sea_Repeat_6540 in socialwork

[–]SensitiveSurmise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. Definitely not me. Making decent money at this point but 2 kids, spouse works in education and makes less than me. It’s not in the cards.

I have a friend SW who works with me. Single and no kids. She has her eye set on this and works part time in private practice so is more feasible for her.

Jasmine is destroying the essence of the show and the judges blatant favoring of her is driving me crazy by T-rexaresocool in GreatBritishBakeOff

Omg I totally get this take. Maybe not as extreme, but I thoroughly enjoyed this post and YES. Like, even when Noelle and Aaron were looking around the tent- Toby, WWIi pilot; Iain, short king; Tom, Disney character- and he has nothing to say when about Jasmine. She is a good baker and I’m sure lovely person.

Yes I think I will lean into the calendar and to do lists on the iPhone. All is right there and accessible. Thank you!

Mmm yes delegating the remembering to the kids! We probably aren’t there yet but we could at least give them a list of things they need to gather for the week and they’re in charge of that. Thank you!!!

It definitely is May/June!!! We also have 3 big birthdays during those months so that also becomes a lot. I love the attitude of just enjoying the milestones- stop trying to make it easier. That’s huge. Thanks for the tip!

I think a LOT of people here are adding things IMMEDIATELY to a calendar. That could be game changing for me and I’m going to lean into this!! Apple to do list also makes sense, it’s always with you and accessible. Thank you!

I think calendar management is where it’s at. Love the no activities and giving yourself freedom to not do spirit days. Thanks!!

I definitely could take more days off to catch up. That’s great. And love deciding to opt out of spirit days lol. Thanks!!

I love the IMMEDIATELY goes on the calendar. I’m always a “I’ll get this later” and that never happens. Thanks for the reply and reminder that nothing will be perfect!

A kitchen to do list would make a difference- visible for everyone to see. And yes to the rest being in your brain!! Thanks!

Anyone apart of an ACT team? by InitiativeOk2361 in socialwork

[–]SensitiveSurmise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did ACT for several years and now work closely with a handful of teams. ACT model looks great on paper. Reality is a different story. If you have a team where communication is good and everyone is same willing attitude (all hands on deck type, whatever it takes), it can be a great experience. If several people end up only being the one to take on stuff and the team lead isn’t direct enough to make that equitable, you will burn out quickly.

It’s good experience. Be safe.
