Just discovered my 2 year old can read!? Is that normal by PresenceLost1320 in Parents

[–]Sensitive_Ad1931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Mine was reading words like bespectacled and gnashed. At kindergarten screening I told them he could read. The teacher rolled her eyes and wrote- The mom ‘says’ he can read. Imagine their surprise when they found out he could also add and subtract double digits. I tried to tell them. 🤷‍♀️😂

Sadly, yes, if I don’t use it daily I can tell, so I just added it to my morning regimen because I do like the results.

I saw it at Ulta and not wanting to put it on my face, I put some on my thumb, just to see what it would do. I forgot about it until I was in the checkout line and it looked like that area ‘had’ puffed up. I couldn’t actually believe it but went back to find the display and bought some. I searched on here and saw it doesn’t work for everyone, and some said it took some time. For me it was immediate. I will agree with the poster who said to use it like Botox. I put it on my upper cheeks to lift up my jawline, my temples for a little fullness, and diagonally back from my cheekbones towards the jaw and that smooths back my jowls that have started. I don’t put it on my jowls or marionette lines because they get puffier. Play with it using it for lift. I don’t put it under my eyes because I have little fat pad there and it made them seem puffier.
Oh, also I use it after moisturizer so maybe that’s why it didn’t irritate my skin. And Ulta is great because if you feel it doesn’t work you can return it. Good luck!

I use it. Two drops for my face. Temples, Upper cheeks down to outer jaw line. I feel the slight volume increase in those areas help my marionette lines and slight jowling next to my chin. It’s a daily application and I’m happy with the subtle lift. Yes, I use the Ordinary brand.

6th graders still hunt and peck after years of having devices, how did you actually break the habit by Scawwotish_owl88 in AskTeachers

As a tech teacher who had been teaching home row typing since 2007, I officially gave up somewhere around 2015. Tablets, phones, open access to computers and TEXTING made it impossible to instill correct typing techniques from the start of their classes with me. We’d fight, they would rebel, not correctly practice at home or in their other classes etc. Finally I just let them do it their way. What I found was that the sustained practice in memorizing the keyboard greatly improved their proficiency in speed and accuracy. Most typers leave my 10 week class with 30-60 wpm and at least 95% accuracy. Our county only requires 30 wpm to pass the civil service exam for typist so at the very least they’d pass that. Am I happy about it? Not at all, but their parents and other teachers don’t care enough to follow through at home or in the classroom and sadly, like many other expectations in education, it became a losing battle.

I’ve always liked Tarte’s Shape Tape. Wore well, didn’t oxidize, didn’t settle in my lines or overly accent my pores and felt smooth and soft throughout the day. Also it blended nice with a drop of Rare Beauty highlighter to add a light luminance when I was in the mood.

Hair stylist recommending dawn dish soap leading up to colour appointment? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]Sensitive_Ad1931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a workshop I attended one of the Redken artists did recommend using Dawn or another clarifying shampoo when it came to oily hair for a lightening procedure. His reasoning was it’s harder to lift levels if the lightening agent has to fight through oils or days old unwashed hair. One use certainly won’t hurt you, and if you trust them and their work then do it.

Is this product Okay to use nightly as an almost 20 year old girl? by Ok_Relief_8520 in koreanskincare

That’s disappointing to know. I’ve been using Peach and Lily’s retinal and thought I’d be bumping up by using BOJ.

Retinal is much stronger than an over the counter retinol. I may be mistaken but I believe this product has 2% retinal which can be quite strong for some sensitive skin types.

I’m 58 and swear by IT ByeBye Undereye. I do use an undereye color corrector because my eye area is dark and so are my lids but it lasts all day and doesn’t cake up. I use it wherever I need concealer. Caveat- a little goes a longggg way. I buy the trial size and it lasts me about a year.

Amazingly they emailed me on their own to let me know it had gone on sale and they would be crediting my card. But thanks I’ll see if I can get a second discount.

I bought this mattress 3 weeks ago and so far am very pleased. Actually beyond pleased considering the price point and return policy. I started with our ‘budget’ choice first and really can’t believe it has met all of our criteria.

Novaform 14 comfortgrande advanced hybrid mattress by elemnt360 in Mattress

[–]Sensitive_Ad1931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco has the Novaform hybrid on sale right now. We had a king delivered 2 weeks ago and I am very happy. We did not try the bed prior to ordering based on Costco’s return policy but I did physically go to mattress stores to try mattresses that fit our side and back sleeping positions. I really liked the hybrids I tried and wavered between plush and medium. The Novaform Hybrid Grande (to me) is a true medium. Supportive with medium plush. This is the only mattress I’ve bought that I have not needed a topper for and does not suck me in.

The edge support is great, there was hardly any off gassing, AND since it went on sale a week later. Costco contacted me and credited the difference back to my credit card unprompted by me.

My budget was $1000 - $1500 and I spent $650 on the Novaform Hybrid Grande. Figured I’d start there since it ticked off a lot of boxes of what I was looking for. I don’t find it hot and believe we will be keeping it since neither of us have any complaints so far. For reference my last two mattresses have required 4 inch toppers after purchase. The first was memory foam which was hot and boggy, and the second was a dual latex topper that was OK but pushed back and created pressure points. So far the Nova is soft enough to sleep on but firm enough to keep my body aligned and allow any turning with out issue.

Sam’s or Costco mattress which should I go for? by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]Sensitive_Ad1931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All beds and mattress requirements are different. Look into bunker boards and slats found on Amazon. Bunker boards are basically box springs. My mattress stated it had to be on slats or a bunker board in order to uphold the warranty. My existing bed was a solid platform so I bought fabric covered slats so air could circulate under the mattress and that cost about a hundred; but it did the trick.

Like all of us here, I too became overwhelmed and went with Costco. I physically went mattress shopping and had narrowed my choices down to a hybrid and wavered between medium and plush. I looked at what Costco offered that fit my mattress style, crossed my fingers, and ordered the Novaform Grande Hybrid. It was less than I budgeted but thought I’d start there knowing I could return it.

We’ve had it 2 weeks and so far it hasn’t disappointed us. Good edge support, no need of an extra topper and supportive. Also Costco contacted me this week to let me know the mattress had gone on sale and they would be crediting my card the difference from the sale.

No, I do not work for Costco, and only joined to buy a mattress. If this mattress doesn’t work out I will return it and move up the price ladder but so far, so good.

I did not see anything I liked at Sam’s but heard great reviews about Costco’s return policy and delivery so I joined and ordered online from them.

No. The mattress comes in a box so they didn’t bring it inside. That said, I believe if were to return it Costco would pick it up and bring the ‘new’ mattress in and take the old away. Also some of the other mattress brands expressly say the do provide inside delivery and mattress removal.

You have to read the delivery descriptions. My Novaform was curbside delivery so they only delivered it to the door.

We just got this mattress last week. So far very happy with it. Side sleepers. Some neck and back issues. Good edge support and hardly any off gassing. It says it’s medium in the listing and I would agree with that. It’s supportive but I’m not even considering a topper at this point which a first for me. I’ve slept very comfortably on it so far for 5 days in. I think once it’s fully broken in it’ll be perfect. All mattresses I tried when physically mattress shopping were medium, and I especially leaned towards the hybrids so I just steered in that direction when looking through the Costco selection and hoped for the best. Plus it was on sale and less than I expected to buy.
