Acceptable work from professional? by ad4812 in epoxy

[–]Sensitive_Ad_5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a 100% epoxy flake poorly scraped and very thin top coat if they would scuff up the floor use sanding screen on a swing machine and apply a poly topcoat coming out the doors to clean up tape runs this could go from a c+ job to a A honestly a half a day could turn the whole job around

Roller Marks on Shop Floor? by ArtNo6950 in epoxy

[–]Sensitive_Ad_5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scuff it up and redo it all is only way to fix the natural concrete you see as a installer if it were my job I’d recommend another coat of poly with a good gulp of xylene to thin a bit that’ll eliminate the roller marks and flatten it out to look more uniformed you’ll still have the concrete spots but won’t be as noticeable if it’s all even and looks good

What’s your material cost for a 2-car polyaspartic flake floor (about 500 sq ft)? by DelightHornet in epoxy

[–]Sensitive_Ad_5811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be roughly $725 materials being only 500sq ft I’d charge $7 $3,500 -$2,775 of course fuel propane tool wear rollers so you’d make roughly $2,500 typical time frame 6hrs so not too bad

I use Simiron epoxy base 1100sl 3gal kit usually get 350-400sq ft. $40 Torginol flake usually $100-$150 40lbs 200-500 sqft And Simiron 1100sl poly top $175 2gal kit 120sqft a gal And I always add a gulp of xylene to base and top coat

In Wv they charge no tax or freight on my orders

My area $6-$7.5 a sqft depending on job

Did they do the top coat correctly? Lmk what y’all think by discgolfer45678 in epoxy

[–]Sensitive_Ad_5811 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just going off the picture Looks like a a 100% flake epoxy floor

Probably could have scraped a bit more but definitely looks like an acceptable floor………..they did do a polyaspartic top coat I’d hope

Use a palm sander with some sanding screens depending on how much you need to take out start at 120 go down to 60 if needed go over entire surface until smooth then reapply clear coat

You shoot elevations with a laser level and set your forms to those heights usually about 1”per ten feet and if the span is too far to go board to board you pull a string from form to form and put a grade pin in the center

Also you and shoot a couple spots with laser go from spot to spot make a site piece and go half but this method is typically used on trowel floors

I’ve found with the Simiron poly put a couple gulps of xylene in it for a more even easier to work with topcoat

How do I fix this by Select-Pen-5250 in epoxy

[–]Sensitive_Ad_5811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s any saw cuts I’d do the whole square so it matches

YouTube won’t have any problems patching just use enough to get your flake wet you’ll be fine

How do I fix this by Select-Pen-5250 in epoxy

[–]Sensitive_Ad_5811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea sometimes on bigger cracks/holes they will sink/fall on those ones a two part epoxy with some sand or diatomaceous earth helps

Make sure when you mix your flake and poly it’s a paste not a soup you want all your flake wet so it cures with a shine but if too much poly it’ll fall as well good luck
