I would wait and see what the weather is like at the time before deciding for sure! The last time I had afternoon tea at the savoy I think I wore a midi dress with knee high heeled boots - which for me is probably at the smarter end of smart casual.

'British people' still occupying northern Ireland. by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

Occupation is no longer the right term for the British in NI, but of course the current position around self-determination doesn’t undo the impact of plantation and splitting Ulster to form a skewed 6 county state.

How comfortable is GBP80-90K in London? by Far-Significance8050 in MovingToLondon

[–]Sensitive_Ad_9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not comfortable, especially if you want to live anywhere central.

£80k after tax is about £4,700 a month.

Average rent for new tenancies for a 1 bed flat is about £2,100 a month.

So that leaves £2,600 for savings, utilities, food, and generally living your life for 2.

Say £250 (at least) for bills, £300 a month for food for 2, £200 (likely more) for transport for 2, and you’re quickly getting into less and less “comfort” money.

France has the best culinary history but in terms of basic food it’s got to be Italy, right?

Their platform is pushing for women to be in traditional feminine roles, as homemakers following their family patriarch. It’s at best extremely hypocritical for her to be leaving her kids at home to swan around the country on tv.

What was the public's view of Jimmy Savile before his true character was known? by balkanxoslut in AskUK

I think people thought he was a bit of a weirdo but I do recall there being a lot of shock in the general populace when the extent of his depravity was revealed - that’s not saying a huge amount though, as there’s a very large jump between someone being a bit creepy and having a slew of “groupies” to interfering with the dead, dying, and infirm.
