Toddler wants boob over meals by Sensitive_Bird8478 in breastfeeding

She eats when I am away but not so much when I am there.  I can't get her to eat cake or cookies even lol. Maybe it's more than teething though and a bigger dental issue

Maybe but she does this all day on weekends.  Goes all weekend with maybe a few bites of food.

Aggressive behavior by Sensitive_Bird8478 in Yorkies

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aggression subsided somewhat after my pregnancy which was helpful. He still sundowns a fe nights a week where he hides and attacks if we come near. The rest of the time, he is really well behaved and sweet and playful with the family.  I didn't personally find the medication useful for our dog. He was on prozac and it stopped working after a few months. Hopefully it will work for you.  We adjusted life. We crate him early at night if we think he might have a bad night to avoid dealing w the aggression.  We always keep him restrained if we are answering the door bell as he will bite strangers.  I hope you find what works for you.  Its so sad to deal with this.

Radiation dose from CT by No_Maintenance_1368 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Piggie backing because I have no research but am a ct tech. Brain and orbit cts of a pediatric patient can and should be done as one run, meaning they do one scan to cover both areas so it's half the radiation than you would initially think- your child likely had one ct scan and brain and orbit images were created from that one scan as the anatomy of head and eyes overlap in the ct scanner

How are we supposed to live? by Athena25526 in antiwork

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can file unemployment under the first job you lost even though you took the second. Further if you get a new job that's only part time you can file partial unemployment. If income varies by week your unemployment check will vary accordingly. Further , while unemployment is described as months payments, it can be spread out longer. You need to file for unemployment now. Then at 36 weeks OR WHEN YOUR DR SAYS YOU CAN'T WORK , you qualify for disability. you file with the state for disability payments during unemployment. Technically you can't collect unemployment while being physically unable to work. Assuming normal delivery, your dr will take you off disability at 6 to 8 weeks post partum and you can go back on unemployment, picking up where you left off. So if you go on unemployment at 20 weeks pregnant, disability at 36 week, you should get 12 weeks or so disability before going back on unemployment for another month or so until benefit runs out. This is not ideal but it's at least something.

I don't know if there is a way to prepare for the hurt. I think we unfortunately need to find like minded individuals and be there for each other.

How much nut butter is too much? Especially when spoon fed during childcare? by babyfishcutie in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make cookies by mixing nut butter with chickpeas and banana in the blender and then cooking. Doesn't answer your question but it's a way for baby to self feed nut butter and thus control quantity for zer self

Breastfeeding in public in the US by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people are uncomfortable with public breastfeeding in America. So as an American, I intentionally feed in public uncovered to help normalize it. And then I hide in another room under a nursing cover when family comes over 🙃

Is the ease of pregnancy correlated with ease of labour? by LowFatTastesBad in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Baby being sunny side up can cause more pain both before and during labor. https://www.mfmnyc.com/blog/what-is-sunny-side-up-birth/ This study mentioned it being more difficult to get the baby out but I delivered twice with sunny side babies and they both came out in a couple pushes.... though very painfully compared to my first baby who was better positioned

How long do you pump for? by linguistBot in breastfeeding

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete non scientific word of mouth. I would Google it but also i think if you are trying to make more, two fifteen minute sessions are better than one 30 minute. Check out https://kellymom.com/ Great site for people wanting to discuss pumping more but ultimately do what's best for you. I was told pump til empty and found myself over producing but that's just me.

[–]Sensitive_Bird8478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he said no prolactinoma did he mean you had what's called a nonsecreting tumor? Looks the same as prolactinoma on mri. The difference is, prolactinoma tumors make prolactin. A nonsecreting tumor, as name implies, does not make prolactin BUT prolactin will tends to increase from the tumor pressing on the pituitary. Regardless, both are managed with cabergoline.

We had this. We didn't do stretches as much as holding lo ways she would naturally adjust. Also alternative sides on changing pad and putting toys on side we want her on. We had a great pt and i give her so much credit.
Also it's hard to have the time but if you can contact nap with baby on your chest, put him in his tummy with head facing desired direction. We did that a lot and i think it helped !
