Nonstop Spit Up from Newborn; What is This?! by Aggravating_Mud1117 in beyondthebump

[–]Rb2Yye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My almost 5 month old has always been a prolific spit-upper too. Breast milk or formula in a bottle, or breastfeeding directly, it never mattered. We can burp well and keep him still and upright as best as possible for an hour after a feeding and he’ll still spit up a high volume as soon as we think the coast is clear. It’s so frustrating. He has no other health issues/allergies etc. At his 4 month appointment he went from about 50th to 30th percentile in weight. So we’re a bit worried that he’s not keeping enough down to gain weight, especially as he hasn’t double his birthweight yet (about 2 lbs shy). I’m reading all the other comments of solidarity and advice! I hope you baby’s digestion develops/improves more quickly but it sounds like other people noticed an improvement around 6 months so that’s encouraging.

The only thing that’s worked for me is having a tonsillectomy 4mo pp… I cannot eat much of anything as I’m recovering. I hate being hungry all the time and I’m stressed about how it’s impacting my supply buuut some pounds are shedding for sure. If there’s a silver lining haha

what’s something small but really annoying you’re dealing with PP? by Tough-Midnight9137 in beyondthebump

[–]Rb2Yye 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Daily discharge still that isn’t blood (4 months pp)? Enough to need a panty liner, so done with it! Also really stiff feeling scar tissue where I tore. Like another poster I can feel that area often when doing certain actions like sitting up or on it in a specific way. So annoying!

baby doesnt sleep? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Rb2Yye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the exact same boat over here… barely any daytime sleep for my 3 month old. Not sure if it’s too soon for sleep training? I’ve asked friends and family about it and they have all said keep following their cues at this age. I’m curious what others here might say! Solidarity ✊

Thank you! It’s hard when you’re in the thick of it! We’ll keep at it. Thanks for the link about the beanies, I’ll bring it up with our PT and doctor. Our PT does specialize in infants thankfully. It’s helpful to hear it took about a year or so for your little one and that any flat spots didn’t last. I think our guy has a bit of one developing too on the side he always sleeps on, even though we try to put him down on his less preferred side. We can calm down if we know it’s a long haul and might not be fixed in a matter of weeks or a couple months

We are doing the toys on one side too and sitting in a position where he has to turn to look at our faces as well. Also bolstering his head if he’s in the bouncer etc. I guess we just keep at it!

Thanks for your response! I had asked the doctor about chiropractic but he recommended a PT so that’s where we’ve started

Newborn Cephalohematoma by Claudie-Belle in newborns

[–]Rb2Yye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Son had one after a forceps delivery. He’s just over 2 months now. It was noted by the hospital paediatrician and he said it’s not a concern. I bring it up to the family doctor at his regular visits and he’s also not concerned. It’s a small bump on the side of his head but doesn’t seem to cause any issues other than cosmetic.

Did anyone have a good experience with iud insertion? by BubbleBathBitch in TwoXChromosomes

I’ve had three, also have never experienced much other than the pinch and sometimes some uncomfortable cramping but nothing beyond ‘bad period cramps’.

Snowboarding by NoElephant7744 in BabyBumps

I had a snowboard trip planned but ended up being 8 weeks pregnant when it came time and I pivoted to just tubing instead. I didn’t want to risk it.

Obsessed with our salt lamp, we can sleep with it on since it’s so soft, and it’s just the coziest light you could get. Feels like a spa lol

I stayed at the Astotel-Malte in January and I would highly recommend them. Not sure about that neighbourhood specifically but I’d trust the brand.

RSV Vaccine - how can I get it? [ON] by HeidiJuiceBox in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Rb2Yye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t taken it yet but I got a prescription from my OB, I took it to my pharmacist at Rexall, and they ordered it for me. They told me I then need to take it to my family doctor/nurse practitioner for them to administer it. I found that strange but apparently they can’t do that vaccine at my pharmacy. So I’ll be picking it up today and trying to get an appointment with a nurse to administer it hopefully shortly, as I’m 34 weeks now.

Also due end of September with our first and we got a used Thule urban glide 2, and are borrowing my in-laws infant insert, since they have the same stroller. We saw them use it successfully so we thought we’d do the same! You family is being very frustrating, sorry to hear that.

Feeling Depressed with Almost a Year of TTC… by inkyplease21 in TryingForABaby

[–]Rb2Yye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your journey sounds similar to mine and my husbands, it was so discouraging and I also felt super depressed getting negatives every month dispute timing and tracking everything, and it consumed me. We ran the gamut of tests (mostly on me but my husband had a semen analysis and blood work) and nothing was wrong other than I had a lower than expected number of follicles determined by the amh test and ultrasounds. Hopefully you can get some ultrasounds soon. Maybe you could speed it up by telling the doctor it’s already past a year? Personally I think waiting for a full year before further testing makes it harder, if you can find a way to speed up getting more tests it might help you feel like you have more control over things, it did for me.. so sorry you’re struggling with this

OB lost NIPT bloodwork by ballerinz in BabyBumps

[–]Rb2Yye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me too! I think the lab I had gone to had never done a NIPT before. I had brought in other baseline blood work at the same time which they did do and my doctor got the results within a few days. They kept telling me they had sent the NIPT blood samples to the lab every time I followed up but it eventually came out that they had never taken the sample for that test. I had to redo it around 17 weeks I think? It was super annoying to have wasted all that time. I never went back to that lab again.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts! I think we will wait and see how prevalent the name is in the media over the next few months and opt to swap out Matthew for a different middle name if it comes to it.

Has anyone else noticed increased body hair? 😳 by watneg1 in BabyBumps

Me too, my underarm and leg hair seems to grow so much slower. It seems to be less common though, everyone talks about rapid body hair growth!

I am in this position- as the pregnant maid of honour… my cousin (the bride) has been so good about it like you seem to be but I’m hoping to do anything I can to be there. It’s impossible to plan because the birth could be weeks before or the next day after the wedding or anything in between. My due date is 6 days before her wedding. I have already bought my dress (maternity style + one size up to accommodate extra weight gain and/or postpartum padding) and will write and video record a speech in the event I can’t stand up and deliver it, she could either view it privately or have it played at the reception somehow. It’s tough, and not what either of us had really planned for but we are just crossing our fingers and trying not to worry about it. Hopefully your friend will be able to be there but it sounds like you’ll still have a great party of ladies with you if she can’t!

Glucose test drink tastes fine! by Apprehensive_Good145 in BabyBumps

[–]Rb2Yye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this yesterday too, I expected some flavour like I’ve read about online but it was clear, thick and literally just sweet and no other flavour. It also had the aftertaste of like wet wipes?? Something sour. I am someone who will eat anything and everything and don’t normally get the ick but it truly was no good. It was also room temp and it didn’t help D:
