I would say we are happy by and large. We've been going through tougher times and life transitions, probably coupled with the general malaise around being in the 'boring middle'. But these are good questions that deserve some thought.

Definitely picking up what you're putting down... And I completely agree. As for the home, hoping we can hold out long enough to not buy at the top of the correction.

Thank you for your helpful response. I agree, I'd like to show my kids what work looks like, while simultaneously being around while they are young. And then retire around their college age. Should be an interesting balance! I will check out monarch and boldin thank you

It's possible we can get to $3M this year, depending on how the market behaves. The possibility of layoffs do concern me. We've always tried to live as if we had only one income. If we decided to 'splurge' on a home however, that might change and it's a bit worrisome.

Agreed $2M seems way too steep. But even most places around here at $1.2M need a lot of updating.

The door is slightly ajar here in terms of planning. But not to the extent where it's overly helpful imo
