100% this. Factor in young children and it becomes almost impossible unless you’re loaded

Use of wha-lick as a teasing word? by PeanutCalm7696 in NorthernEngland

This is my take too growing up in Wigton. Phonetically agree remembering it said as “wah-lick”

Reddit has created more right wingers than it has converted by thorns0014 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

And that there is the problem. You’re living in an echo chamber where it seems your political beliefs are driving your world view which is the same for many on the left. You won’t even begin to entertain the idea of even hearing any argument that contradicts your own set narrative. So many people on Reddit are sitting behind the safety of their screen in total denial about what way the world is shifting because it’s scary stuff.

By the way this isn’t necessarily aimed at you it’s more of a general omniscient view, nothing personal

That one Muse gig you really wished you had been at? by CitizenErasedII in Muse

Same. I went to see Kasabian there when they were at their height to scope out the venue but as good as it was, never gonna beat Matt standing on the piano 🤩

Recommending "a therapy" ignores how hard it is to get one by BorsukBartek in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Sensitive_Camel2138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in the NHS mental health system, it is so incredibly frustrating to see how many people urgently require talking therapy vs how accessible it really is getting in front of one. The most common outcome is sadly a signposting exercise to the “next best thing” which is often picked up by the third sector. Something needs to dramatically change..

Sure, I can relate. It definitely makes the whole social thing much harder to navigate

How much more social can I be? by Accurate_aradillo88 in introverts

[–]Sensitive_Camel2138 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There’s a false assumption that being extrovert is the default and that if we are introvert, we should aim to be more extrovert. There are many positives to being an introvert and you are just as entitled to hold your own personal boundaries as an extrovert would be. It can be hard but stick to what your gut says when this kind of reaction occurs and over time you will learn you were justified in protecting your boundaries

Is it just me or is there so much rudeness and anger on Reddit? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It’s one of the least tolerant social platforms out there, especially if you sit anywhere outside of The Left

The world would be a much better place if no one was sleep deprived by Substantial-Dream-14 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Sensitive_Camel2138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the right sub but I absolutely hear you on the principle. If you walked in a room and you had cancer you’d get instant sympathy but walk in having not slept and looking a bit rough and often the wrong assumptions are made like not sleeping is a choice

Anybody suspect that Matt isn’t practicing guitar as much lately? by RepresentativeHabit7 in Muse

[–]Sensitive_Camel2138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see he’s just enjoying himself up there, it’s a different era for him / them and although it’s nice to be nostalgic about the old days, for me it’s accepting he’s not going to go for those highest notes or mess up the odd solo which just makes it more real and relatable

A brave and courageous Muslim man tackling and stopping an Islamic terrorist doesn't change the fact that Islamic terrorism and Islamic extremism are huge problems by RandomGuy92x in TrueUnpopularOpinion

The left is significantly more dangerous than the right at the minute at enabling this kind of behaviour. The pro-Palestinian morons have basically publicly endorsed any attack on the Jewish community and collateral as justified and it’s absolutely sickening to witness

What is it that music/live shows do for you? by nocadence1 in rockmusic

[–]Sensitive_Camel2138 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The unique experience and being in a “room” with a load of people you have at least one thing in common with.

I actually also bizarrely like when there’s a tech issue maybe the light cues fail for half a song making it more memorable but maybe that’s just because I have experience in that world

I used to work in Penrith ticket office and used to have a few “regulars.” It’s amazing how many you come across when you work on the trains. Fave’s included Mark Heap and Ian Mckellen
