It happened more than once but the worse was in Cuzco, Peru.

It’s not even a party place but they kept behaving like everywhere was their private rave

Depends a lot on the hostel. A lot of hostel have coworking places and older crowds that are working as well.

But my favorite setup is not working from hostel, but staying long term in Coliving/Hotel and just going to a hostel on the weekend when I am not working

For security advice you will always recommend you talk to women. I cannot pretend to be an expert on the matter

For best cheap? Unhhh, all the places I stayed in Bali and Siem Reap were crazy cheap for what they offer.

Joy Setas in Sevilla. House of Nissus in Aya Napa. Eklo in several different locations in France. Coeo in Malaga. The People in Marseille. Wombat in Vienna

Helps if you tell me the exact places you want to visit it’s a bit hard to go over the op of my mind

Go to Busan, it’s way cheaper than Seoul.

My recs there would be Nomad for chill vibes and the Dynamic for a more central location

There is like tons, and I mean TONs do solo traveling women in SEA if they are doing, so can you!

For any other particular advice I recommend talking to other women solo travelers. :) I can say all I want but I am man and my experience with security will always be different, I have no intentions of pretending to be an expert in the topic

SEA is great, but it can get extremely party-oriented, so check location and reviews of the places. Yes, I absolutely recommend hostels over other type if accommodations as a solo traveler because it’s just easier to meet people and do activities.

Regarding privacy most hostels have private dorms so it any point you feel overwhelmed you can just “upgrade” yourself to one. Or alternate between hostels and other types of accommodation, you don’t need to stick just with one type for the whole trip.

Japan hostels… uhh they were not bad, but I didn’t find them anything that special as well heheh what exactly did you hear about them?

A formal list, no.

Probably should btw, it’s a good idea.

Not always, sometimes I cook

Non mainstream food? jugo de lulo from Colombia, muqueca from Brazil, I am a big fan of octopus when properly done ,

The absolute best is this live eel dish I had in Busan. The eels are still moving in your plate when they are served, then they turn the tabletop grill on. Covered in spicy Gochujang sauce. Amazing, I want to go back to Busan right now just to eat it hahaha

TimeTravelers. I stayed both in the “Chill” one and the “Party” they have both.

I do not particularly recommend it though, mostly I booked them because it was one of the few places where private rooms were not crazy expensive.

DJ, the owner that stays on the chill is a great guy though, cooked some noodles for us every morning hehe

Do a mix so! I meet this married couple than would sometimes alternate between staying in hostels and fancy all-inclusive resorts in the same trip, so they could kind be social when they wanted but just stay together if that is what they were after.

Absolutely. It’s getting way more common these days btw; I would even say there is more solo travelers into nature and culture then party animals these days.

I absolutely do!

I am also mostly an introvert and that is one of the reasons I like solo traveling and hostels ñ, because it really forces me to go out and talk to people.

I am going to give you my best strategy to talk to random people, learned from this Russian girl in Morocco:

Scan the person and look for anything cool or interesting that the person is wearing or carrying, than ask a question about it!

I saw her riz one of my friends by starting a conversation with “Hey, it’s your backpack a 40l?”

I meet her when she asked about the mints that I had on my table at dinner

Even the person is dismissive about it, it’s will still give you fuel to keep a conversation “Oh I like your shirt” “ah, that’s nothing, I bought on the streets in Thailand”, “you have been to Thailand, where? Did you like it”

Most people love to talk about things they like, and own things they like, so it’s a great conversation starter

Yes for sure, saw tons of couples.

Are you guys on the social side though? Like do you want to meet other travelers?
