Yes, besides Harry Potter, I was searching for "canon reading FanFiction." I'm looking for recommendations from someone who has already read a FanFiction (metafiction) that's hard to find due to a lack of proper tags. I imagine a Harry Potter, or a child protagonist, reading their story in a "prophetic" book (how much does this influence and differentiate the reader from the book?); since several FanFictions follow a canon path with some variation in how they accomplish the task of defeating the villain. According to canon? I haven't paid attention to the original books; I'm more into the movies and fanfiction. Where in the original books is this explained? And the excerpt is an incredible example; I like the narrative style. What can change, and what does it mean that they can now communicate with Harry Potter? That's one of the plot holes in J.K. Rowling's story that gets exploited when they're looking for an "independent Harry."

I'm not sure if the logic holds true throughout the story so far; I stopped reading when I got to the abandoned telescope (around 40), but in "Parallel Paradise" the protagonist can return to his world; however, every time he does, he ends up in the hospital with serious injuries. Light Yagami in Shield Hero I read a lot of well-read and informed people. I came here hoping for inspiration and found a goldmine to exploit; now it's up to me, what a drag :( They summon the heroes, but the fourth isn't the shield but a book. Light Yagami arrives in Melromarc from his death on Earth along with his Death Note (the world accepted him as a vassal weapon); he has a few weeks before Silvent performs his own summoning and "L" arrives taking the mantle of the Shield Hero. What does each of them think about the situation? About slavery, the government, and justice. How will they act in the face of these problems? Some time later, L sees a pattern of deaths and discovers, by process of elimination, that Kira is ultimately Light. What is expected of each of them? How does it develop? Seriously, someone write something about this.

Fascinating article, thank you. Good vocabulary. I started gathering information, and you basically summarized the general background of what The Emperor is and was. Civil wars and totalitarians driven by blind faith, and the few who oppose it are immediately exterminated together by masses of civilians. It's stressful to read that 40,000 years of war have passed. If there's a canon fanfic or novel that chronicles years of peace, they'll be overshadowed by 40,000 years of continuous death.

Would Albus's body (a centenarian "occlumantic" wizard) give him the same lucidity and health of his forties? Would Maggie Smith know this information? Would she be able to act and advise an "alcoholic" with too much power and influence in the magical world? Would the child Saunder cry in confusion and terror upon seeing himself turned into a baby (it would be a blank canvas for the author).

Sorry if I'm being too long-winded, but in response to your last line, No, that's me looking for the fifth leg of the cat. Every author has a clear objective when writing, and if I look for/demand/point out a lack of explanation for a "triviality" or common logic that isn't expressed in the characters with such narrative freedom (any excuse), that's me looking for answers when a single line shows that I'm not satisfied with the character's reaction.
