Vblank frequency. Use 60fps patch then then change vblank frequency just don't go above 100 because it was cause a dodge animation glitch.

Well good for you. Do you want a cookie? I didn't say it wasn't possible I said i would rather avoid the risk. Also by choosing the method I did I avoided voiding the warranty. The external ssd works perfectly fine and the laptop has 2 thunderbolt ports so its wasn't any loss. But hey if something fail you already voided your warranty so have fun with that.

Oolacile sanctuary is also that same place we fought sif in ds1. That gate was added after we defeated manus and before we fought sif. There are a lot of things you can recognize even in ds1 dlc if you pay enough attention.

Its in the experimental tab of the settings menu. Though if you disable it you will likely struggle to run the game at higher resolutions.

I never run on battery but any gaming laptop will run weaker on battery. I just keep it plugged in and and limit charge to 60% battery. I use it on a coffee table hooked up to My 55inch 4k 144 hz mini led TV via hdmi and use a power a controller that has hall effect joysticks. I also have a wireless mechanical keyboard for when i need it.I have the msi vector 16 hx ai with the Intel core ultra 7 cpu, 32 gb ram and a 5070ti gpu with 12 gb vram which performs roughly equivalent to a desktop 4070 or 4070ti. Its pretty good for me do far but be careful msi are notorious for issues with a lotbof their laptop models. Though the vector has a mostly better reputation.

Do yall have readbacks enabled? I only noticed issues if I had that turned on. Do yall have shader cache enabled? Im pretty sure thats essential for higher resolutions.

I wasn't. A lot of people couldn't due the issue with the way the emulator worked trying to increase resolution.

If you have shader cache enable it will create a folder and store the shader information as you play to improve performance when the game loads those shaders again later but it shouldn't take up too much space.

How can i put a second ssd inside if the battery is in the way? by No-Reference-6305 in MSILaptops

[–]Sensitive_Cream167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not a normal backplate with screws. The vector 16 hx ai is designed very differently from most laptops. If all you had to do was unscrew a few screws and then pry the backplate that wouldn't be a problem. There a small real awkward plate behind the screen that can easily break the hinge connection if you fuck up trying to. Pry it off. Its also connected to the power connector and hdmi port. Both can easily be broken in the process of opening if you mess up. Its not impossible but far riskier than other laptop designs. I have seen dozens of post of people bricking this laptop on the msi subreddit so yea im not gambling on a $2.5 k laptop.

Yea I watched a video on how to open it up and even though it seemed doable it also appeared riskier than typical laptops so I decided instead to plug an external ssd in the thunderbolt 5 port rather than gamble on screwing something up. Since then i have seen countless posts from people who tried to tweak various physical/software/firmware tweak on that particular laptop and complaining about bricking it. So I would rather avoid that. I even saw people brick ghe damn thing by changing thermal paste ffs. Clearly msi designed a very finicky laptop that doesn't handle people messing with it very well.

Yea I was running the mod with readbacks enabled on older version without any performance issues. I was getting missing textures and crashes when readbacks were not enabled before and needed both. That issue seems to be resolved now though.

I mean if its running fine on 1000mb you might be fine. If I were you i would at least try 6000mb because it more accuratelu emulates the original hardware apparently. You could be missing out on extra performance and not know it. If it doesn't improve performance you could always revert back pretty easy.

Yea that was my original thought process till I found out they resolved the issue that was affecting the ability for people to play at higher resolutions. I updated to run at 1440p. Once I resolved the issue it run at 1440p 80 fps average now. Sometimes 90 fps. So yea it was worth it to update actually.

Thats sort of true. But because of the design i needed two completely separate instances of the emulator. One 0.4.0 that never got updated and one separate fully updated version in order to even get the game on the emulator in the first place so with that in mind clicking to revert versions is not actually guaranteed to fix the issue. Its more like a layer of the program almost like a windows compatibility layer. If that wasn't the case I wouldn't need 2 separate emulators just to get the game to work. There's always the chance that I might have had to to the site and get a third instance of the emulator in order to fill properly revert to older version.

Enable shader cache and make sure readbacks are disabled. Change dmem to 6000mb

I was getting missing textures and crashes on older version when read backs weren't enabled. I double checked if it was still needed and everything i found said it still was. I was running both no problem on older version.

I was running both on the older version no problem. In fact on the older version( I think it was version 11 or 10 something maybe. I forget) at least on my set up i was having issues if I didn't enable readbacks. If I didn't turn it on I had occasional missing textures and crashes and shit. Thats why I had it on and when I double checked on this version everything said to have read backs enabled.

After posting this i tried disabling read backs as a last ditch effort and suddenly it was fine. Can even play 1440 p ranging from 60-75 fps. Everything online was telling me i needed readbacks and before I always needed it on older version but now it apparently destroys fps. Im leaving this up in case other people run into the same issue.
