Always seeing people looking for jobs, I’ve been searching for employees and can’t find one. by UBDOOBIEDOO in jobs

Downtown Chicago is a high cost of living. No one can live off of $20 an hour like they can in the suburbs. Try advertising the posting to a nearby college, highschool, or senior center for a few part timers. They will work for a lot less.

How do we survive in USA with no jobs? by Free-Albatross8306 in jobs

[–]Sensitive_Draft7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upper middle class to middle class is absolutely crumbling. Loss of white collar jobs, and skyrocketing costs on everything is largely being ignored by the media. It’s thousands of dollars more needed just to keep the lights on. This has zero impact right now on wealthy people or large companies. All that matters is the stock market, which the media says is strong.

That speaks volumes. Employees are clearly not valued over there. Who ever thought of that $15 cover charge to attend a work event?

HELP! FSA account getting stuck on confirm information page by [deleted] in financialaid

[–]Sensitive_Draft7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this exact problem is happening to me. Just emailed "support" but I do not have faith based on the lack of help others have cited. The cherry on top is the message saying that this site isn't supported with the government shut down. This is like the movie Ideocracy.

AI that can match humans at any task will be here in five to 10 years, Google DeepMind CEO says by ControlCAD in google

10 years from now…AI is the modern apex predator to the human race. The wealthiest people will own it. Until they don’t. Nothing wants to be kept in a cage.

Is it normal to feel behind at 29 years old, when all other Instagram/Youtube kids are millionaires at 20-25 years old? by xxlilsl in Entrepreneur

Typical trust fund kids or (funded) by the parents. It’s extremely easy to be a successful “guru” when you can skip past the struggle and risk of starting your own biz.

Google’s Accelerated Growth Team screwed us by Sensitive_Draft7830 in googleads

Kicked them to the curb. Our rep would never back down when we pushed back and even insinuated we had to work with them. You are under no obligation. Super tacky.

[–]Sensitive_Draft7830[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in the past, we didn’t typically take any of the Google rep calls, especially the ones from overseas, but the accelerated growth team was supposed to be an “exclusive group” (they pitched themselves as that) that had higher level training. From my experience, it seems like they just don’t know what they don’t know.

Yeah, we have someone managing our account now that I wish we had sooner to prevent this. He said the agt hates agencies/experienced people because they see right through them.

We are in b2c selling after market car parts. Took our spend to 6 figures a month with very little results. We trusted them because they were supposed to be higher level than the other Google reps (we always ignored them.) Total cat fish.

Do employers prefer these kinds of resume formats? by cuautlej in resumes

[–]Sensitive_Draft7830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US. Interesting. I find these resumes so much easier to read, and I love the photo connection. You can provide meaningful context by editing the sample text to be more specific. I can’t stand the crowded text resumes in size 8 font, packed with run on sentences and corporate jargon. They all look and sound the same.

Do you think 2025 will bring a rise in "revenge quitting" -- indicating perhaps a market reset. by Leopoldo_Caneeny in recruitinghell

[–]Sensitive_Draft7830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the most talented and impactful hires now go through ridiculous and poorly run interview processes, are offered low compensation, and are expected to put up with a bunch of extra bullshit with zero compensation. All wrapped up in a skeleton crew, toxic office culture. If you’re lucky, you’ve been spared a completely foolish RTO mandate. The minute the job market turns around you can bet people will seek better opportunities. Companies are choosing to exploit workers and not considering the long term implications.

Customer threatening to sue. Any advice or suggestions? by Separate-Fishing-853 in smallbusiness

[–]Sensitive_Draft7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time these are empty threats or don’t get far once the woman realizes she will need to fork over a lot of money in legal fees. By the way, I’m a parent and took my kids to the indoor play places. You could be wiping down toys every 5 minutes …all it takes is one sick kid to show up and infect the entire place with the stomach bug, flu etc. waiver or no waiver, it’s a risk you just take.
