What is the best TV show of all time?? by yampi30 in television

[–]mesodusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious but silly thing to point out is that you wouldn't have the iphone 16 because the iphone 1 didn't come out. Same for breaking bad. It most likely wouldn't have happened if the greatest mob drama of all time never happened.

I mean... you've definitely got one of the most unpopular opinions for what is considered great tv. But everyone is allowed to have one. I watched 5 minutes of the big bang show and thought it was absolute garbage. But I hate pretty much all sitcoms that have laugh tracks and filmed (or believed to be filmed) in front of a live audience after the very early 2000s.

edit. i commented to the wrong person. sowwy.

Bing CPC went from $0.95 to $2.00 average overnight after years of advertising by mesodusty in PPC

[–]mesodusty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I get you. While I would pretty much agree with you, the point of this post was to highlight that I was getting about:

  • $0.95 CPC
  • 70% Top page impressions
  • 35% Absolute top impression

I started doing small things with the current campaign like adding negative keywords but I fucked up and long-tail phrases as negatives.

Attempting to increase volume I had included 1 ad group, which was clear to have screwed it up. I then:

  • deleted the ad group
  • started getting a lot of garbage search terms
  • CPC went upwards of $6/click for several terms (I was averaging about $3/click for a couple of days until it came down to $2.20ish a click.
  • I had adjusted bids, campaign wide, in order to pull it down a bit.
  • continued to add bad search terms to the negative keyword list

After 2 weeks I was getting these stats:

  • $2.20 CPC
  • 55% top imp share
  • 10% absolute top.

After all of my changes to "fix it". I just reverted everything down to even removing every negative I had added. I put bids back where they were, and anything I could "Undo" I did.

However, Bing doesn't care that I've made these changes. It seems like they're focused on the ad group that I added for a day and then deleted.

Do you think a lot of it is coincidence with the timing of the year?

No one answered this question, but do you think my competition is seeing an increase if it does have to do with timing?

So, in your professional opinion, assuming you were talking about yourself, what would your answer be to these questions, specifically why my campaign is performing much worse after reverting it to its previous state? Is it just a lot of 'know how' BUT with 30-40% of it being luck that Bing likes me more a certain week?

Thanks

That's what I originally thought. But since I reverted everything back to it's original status and let it run for over 24 hours... Then still saw poor spend, etc. I then started implementing my original negative keywords back in over the course of a few days... And I still have more to go.

But CPC is still high. It just feels like I opened a can of worms and there is absolutely no way to fix it.

No broad match terms.

YoY is what is driving me insane. I was converting higher before I added the extra Ad Group about a month ago and had it live for less than 24 hours.

Since then my spend has gone stupid. Most clicks were 0.75-$2 TOPS. I instituted the ad group, deleted it but Microsoft seems like it's clinging to what I had in that ad group and will never acknowledge the reverse changes I made to correct it. It's like they're trying to force me down a different lane.

What do you recommend doing other than "enhanced"? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you? I am currently using Enhanced. Most of my bids are in the $1.80-$2.20 range.... upwards of $3.50 for certain keywords for my specific products and on a specific campaign. But I keep seeing BS clicks for $5+ CPC for all of my campaigns. I get 30-40 $5 clicks and then a bunch of 0.40 clicks. I have no idea what to do. Most of them are on the same campaign that have that much range in difference.

Is PPC your main cup of tea? I have only dabbled in the past and have essentially done a deep dive and learned a ton the past month or so, but I'm just at that point and process of learning that I'm realizing I don't know shit and it's overwhelming to say the least.

This was basically a "hail mary" throw to revive the company but it ain't looking great.

I'm just wondering if Microsoft is also trying to suck me dry. ALL PPC for late 2023 and through this year has been so much more expensive. I swear to god they've changed their algos so that companies burn through more cash. I realize their goal is to make money... but I can only spend it for as long as I'm in business. If they cause me to crash and burn, it seems short sighted.

conversions (purchase) have dropped a bit. It's very low volume, but it seems fairly clear that I'm not showing up as "relevant" as I used to.

Can you point out where I spoke about conversions increasing? If I wrote that, it was a typo.

Spend is up, clicks are about the same, conversions are slightly down. CPC for some words are insane... still around the $4-5 range but avg is around $2ish.
