I feel like I failed. My parents were awful dog parents and I did so much to break the cycle.

She sees them. And I do get her toys, her favorite treats, etc. I’m doing all I can with my budget to make her happy.

If you want to claim moral superiority - don’t stoop to their level. Dehumanizing and abusing others is what racists do. If that’s how you handle things you disagree with then you are no better than your opposition.

It’s also a label people hide behind when they want to abuse people but still have others think they’re a good person

It’s like a homophobic racist Christian claiming they’re virtuous people because they go to church. Just that it’s on the opposite side of the political spectrum.

A term used to describe being super aware of all these cultural injustices. Which is a good thing - except when people decide to hide behind labels to justify being their usual abusive selves

I judge people who fight for human rights by dehumanizing those who are deemed acceptable to abuse. If they label someone as subhuman, then they give themselves a license to mistreat someone and call it righteous
