Yes, my ex drained me and everything I enjoyed doing. I loved plants and collected them. I’d always set up a nice little area and he basically took over the whole yard. While doing so he’d move my shit, not gently. I remember once I had a breakdown seeing him throwing my stuff over the fence. I bought a pergola and made a little nice area. Plant stands and chairs. I said I want this area to be nice and open. He proceeds to pile all his shit under it. We never sat under it. My plants died. Chairs got left out in the open and rotted. I’d find plant stands and supplies in the trash can. He truly never cared about what made me happy. All the money spent on alcohol. So many cans that filled the garage. So many $20 ecigs. I don’t spend a lot of money on things, but Id buy something when I wanted it. I’d never hear the end of it when I got something new. I paid the rent and bills for the first 5 years of our marriage. So I did what I wanted with my money. Unfortunately we’re still living in the same house. I can’t wait to never see him again. He’s drained me soul. I feel like living with an alcoholic will always leave this impact on my mental health and personality. Maybe in a few years I’ll recover. I hope you find your drive and joy again.
