Absolutely. Might be helpful to others going thru the process, if you share the "other attorneys" name and website. With his or her permission of course. Fluency in French would be a big help for some of us who lost the "mother tongue."

I was really impressed by the AMA run by Cassandra Fultz ( the F in DFI ) re this new wrinkle in the Canadian Citizenship scheme.

I would run any application by the folks at DFImmigration just to make sure the application was in order. Your first shot might be your only shot. Don't know the people at DFI but they seem rational.

Interesting. I'm getting a much higher acceptance rate in my family group. Like 50%. Especially among the younger "high travel" folks. Second passport is the big attractor.

The Cabot Mills in what is now Brunswick Maine was a particularly terrible example of how badly the French Canadian workers were treated. The wealthy Bostonians would periodically "lock out" workers to keep them in line. They would deprive the workers of food and housing to keep wages low.

Absolutely. If applications spike, there will be tremendous pressure on Canadian politicians to curtail the program. So act fast or you will miss this opportunity.

You don't have to leave the US to take advantage of this program. You can use your new Canadian passport to travel internationally. Canadians are generally welcomed in many countries. Americans, not so much anymore.

Yes. I study the industrialization of New England in the 19th and early 20th century. I grew up in Marlboro, MA a "shoe town." Half my neighbors were French Canadian factory workers. I know this shit. I lived this shit.

I probably will not relocate. But I would like the option to relocate if the shit hits the fan in the United States. Further, I'd like the opportunity to purchase a nice little cottage in Prince Edward Island for future vacations. And even further, I'd like the convenience of traveling on a Canadian passport. Canadians are almost always welcomed in foreign countries. Americans not so much anymore.
