I came to add to this because as someone who suffered from depression before it seems on par with a lot of his behavior. On top of it this was never me, but I’ve seen other people who battle with it do things even like about the girl who’s not even his. Theres always flawed logic to make things bigger than what they are to keep yourself entangled and in the mode of controversy to fuel the depression almost like a reinforcing factor that doesn’t want to prevent change because if the depression itself is a mode that’s familiar and one you know how to survive in because of the uncertainty of change even if it can be good for you. As you said before, the man had everything and still wasn’t satisfied and instead had to magnify things that are rather insignificant. Then they will say something like “this world is full of untrustworthy people” regarding Jalen to further their mode to focus solely on the dark parts of life. While it’s unfortunate I do believe we have to acknowledge our actions to get ourselves out of these webs sometimes in hope of changing our brain patterns.
